One of our favorite summer fashion trends is the talking tee. We love witty and inspirational quotes, so pairing them with a great top is a match made in T-shirt heaven. The only question that arises with these casual fashion statements is beauty. What is the right approach for these talking tees and how do you put your best face (and hair) forward without going overboard? We asked our go-to makeup experts Diana Shin and Emma Willis of Contour Fossa how to create the perfect look for our favorite tees by clothing brand Emi Jay. Take a look!
Face. When rocking a casual and cute tee, keep your face makeup fresh and natural — don’t pile it on! Opt for a BB Cream or light, illuminating foundation to achieve a dewy look. If you need a little warmth, dust some bronzer to your forehead and cheek hollows. Add a little pop of peach blush to the apples of your cheeks and you are ready to roll.

Eyes. There is a time and a place for that smoky eye we love so much, but this is not it! Go for a more understated eye with soft, brown shadow or light pink. To make the eyes pop, apply a soft peach or nude shimmery shadow to the inner and outer corners of the eyes. Finish it off with a lengthening mascara.

Lips. This fun T-shirt look calls for equally fun lips, so go for a glossy pout with this one, ladies! Swipe a tinted lip balm and go over it with a peach or pink gloss.

Hair. Give yourself a sporty ’do by wearing a side fishtail or pumped-up pony with your tee! To give these styles a little extra body, apply a little texturizing spray or powder to your locks before getting started.
