The Joey New York Story

Many little girls grow up playing with their mother's makeup, but few turn the childhood pastime into a multi-million dollar business. Joey Chancis is one beauty addict that made it happen.

Raised by a mother who "was born with makeup on", Joey was exposed to color cosmetics and proper skincare from an early age. Joey's "formal" education in the beauty industry came from product development positions with Chanel and Revlon, where she learned an insider's view of the creation, marketing and promotion of numerous cosmetic products. She took this knowledge and opened Joey New York Day Spa in 1992 at Le Parker Meridien Hotel. The successful venture was a partnership with Joey's mother, Arlyne Roer. Although the two beautyphiles attracted an impressive clientele, Joey and Arlyne were unimpressed with the treatment products available.

Joey was determined to improve and simplify spa skincare. Up until this point, estheticians were combining multiple brands to deliver the benefits they wanted, so Joey responded with more effective, gentler products, easy-to-follow collection of products. In conjunction with a cosmetic chemist, Joey developed original formulas to cleanse, protect and condition the skin, allowing spas to customize facials and still send clients home with a skincare regime based on a single product line. The very first product, Pure Pores Blackhead Remover And Pore Minimizer Gel, was an instant success and served as the catalyst for the entire company. This breakthrough product was a welcome alternative to painful extractions, and everyone, from estheticians to New York socialites, was soon clamoring for more products. In 1995, the company officially became known as Joey New York.

Joey continues to follow her primary goal - to track lifestyle and medical/dermatological trends and translate them into effective, non-invasive skincare treatments for at-home use. She built her reputation on creating products previously unavailable in the beauty market and the company quickly established itself as a solution-oriented skincare line targeting everything from acne and wrinkles to rosacea and under-eye circles.

The business grew from packing boxes in her New York residence to a staff of fifty now based in Florida. At present, the company has two divisions, Joey New York Professional, sold to spas, and Joey New York Specialty, available at the retail level. As an international bestseller, sold in Germany, Australia, Korea, Saudi Arabia, Dubai and the United States, Joey New York has earned its reputation as a beauty success story.

Today, Joey New York continues to receive rave reviews for its non-surgical dermatological fixers. In place of pricey hyaluronic injections, customers can use the company's Correct-A-Line treatment to experience facelift-quality results from a topical hyaluronic acid-based formula. Complementing this unique product is the Instant Chemistry line, seven targeted formulas designed to revitalize the complexion. The three LipNix products are another example of Joey New York's unconventional answers to everyday problems. Using aromachology, each lip product delivers a scented message to the brain to help curb the appetite, attract the opposite sex or stop smoking.
