The red carpet positively ignited at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards with a bold array of brightly hued gowns that were stunning on actresses like Julianne Moore, Claire Danes, Julie Bowen, Tina Fey and Nicole Kidman. But a few leading ladies amped up their sartorial prowess with a beauty look that was equally as strong. January Jones, Ginnifer Goodwin, Kate Mara, Jessica Paré and Hayden Panettiere all sought out highly individualized hair and makeup statements that made them stand out among the evening's arrivals. Jones and Goodwin delivered cutting-edge drama—Jones with sleek strands and a heavily rimmed smoky eye that popped with graphic white in the waterline and Goodwin with her opaque black cat eye that arched all the way from her dense lashes to the creases of her lids. Mara opted for romance with pretty sideswept curls that she accented at the forehead with a braid that seemed in the midst of unraveling. Paré played the role of screen siren, looking every bit the picture of classic Hollywood glamour with dark wavy locks, a porcelain complexion and bright red lips. Panettiere rounded out the group by conjuring a Greek goddess, with a modern topknot and golden complexion that perfectly complemented her whispy Marchesa dress.
