At the premiere of Les Misérables, Amanda Seyfried looked every bit the superstar in a regal Grecian-inspired updo. Her slicked back locks and braided bun beautifully complemented her dramatic cat eyes, accentuated her long neck and put all the focus on the gold-embroidered bodice of her Alexander McQueen gown. Her mane man Renato Campora tells us how he created her gorgeous hairstyle.

Step 1: While your hair is still wet, apply a volumizing product, like Redken Body Full Instant Bodifier Volumizing Foam, throughout strands to create thickness. Then blow-dry with a paddle brush to detangle and smooth.

Step 2: Once your hair is dry, pull it into a high ponytail at the center of your head.

Step 3: Separate your ponytail into three sections and braid all the way to the tips. Secure the end of the braid with a small, clear elastic.

Step 4: Wrap the braid in a circular motion, creating a bun with it, and secure with bobby pins as you go.

Step 5: Tuck in the end (with the elastic) so that it’s not visible and firmly secure with bobby pins.

Step 6: Set the look with hair spray, like L'Oréal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray Extra Strong Hold. The front of the head should be very sleek, so keep flyaways at bay with a smoothing product, like John Frieda Full Repair Touch-Up Flyaway Tamer.
