The fall 2012 haute couture presentations delivered beauty on—and off of—the runways, with fashion's front-row regulars being the ones to watch last week for the best celebrity hair and makeup looks. Haute couture often pushes the boundaries, but its loveliest of spectators took a more down-to-earth approach to elegance. Hair was swept off the face, brushed to the side or worn loosely around the shoulders, with lots of natural texture in play. Eyes were often rimmed and smoky, and complexions were paler, with just the subtlest hints of rosy color on the cheeks and lips. The end results were sweet and fresh, and offered a perfect counterpoint to the catwalk drama all were gathered to see.
