With her background as an art director in New York City for almost 20 yearsand her study of Ayurveda for15 years, it's no wonder such fragrant offerings are coming out of her company, The Mystic Masala. fragrances to balance the Ayurvedic constitutions, to traditionally crafted all-natural body care products, you can tell there is a passion for the exotic as well as the therapeutic, in this unique line of aromatherapy products.
Glynnis's journey of bringing together the Ancient wisdom of Ayurveda with contemporary living has led her from the coast of Kerala, India to a women's cooperative in Nepal. Here at the co-op, Tibetan healers, shamans and herbalists well practiced in Ayurveda, wild-craft native Himalayan herbs and flowers to create authentic Ayurvedic blends for soaps, massage oils and other intriguing offerings. Glynnis works with the women to develop blends that can relieve, release and rejuvenate the body, mind and spirit. A traditional cold process is used. Imagine large crystal jars of oils such as sesame, olive, coconut and apricot, basking in the warm Nepali sun for 5 weeks, while sustainably harvested herbs, spices and
flowers infuse slowly and carefully into the oils, In the moonlight the oils are cooled down to balance the heating and cooling energies of the herbs. This all to bring luxurious health to the body, peace to the mind as well as fair trade conscious business practices to the world (and of course delight to the spirit!).

The Mystic Masala's aromatherapy candles are not just there to make your space smell delicious, they have a deep and subtle function to enhance your moods through the balance of delicate blends of essential oils, specially prepared for each dosha. The sense of smell is profoundly powerful, triggering memories, moods and feelings, with the ability to calm, stimulate and soothe the senses.
In Ayurveda it is said that each of us has a combination of the five elements (air, ether, fire, water and earth) - some of these elements will be more distinct in individuals which in turn reflects our predominant “dosha” or mind/body/spirit constitution. Each dosha has unique qualities that influence our body structure, hair and skin type, personal characteristics and health.
Vata types are light, mobile, creative, quick and airy, tending to dryness and susceptible to feeling cold, anxious and restless when out of balance. Pitta types are hot, oily, intense and driven, always hungry with a strong digestive fire, tend towards impatience, anger, heartburn, and burn-out when out of balance. The Kapha types are solid, stable, slow, patient and maternal and when out of balance can become heavy, depressed, sluggish with upper respiratory issues.
