Editor's Picks: Our Flavor of the Week

In the movie world, sequels are rarely as good as the original. They often mean well, but they tend to lack that special something that made you fall in love with the original film in the first place. Luckily for those in the land of makeup, that’s not typically the case. When beloved brands revamp and upgrade their classic products, the results are often significantly better than the precursors. This is certainly the case with our beauty pick of week: Lancôme’s Teint Idole Ultra Longwear Foundation Stick. Whether you prefer a fully polished makeup look or just want to hide problem areas, this handy little stick delivers the quality and coverage you would expect from the original foundation. Let the swooning begin!

Lancome Foundation

Flawless Finish

This foundation stick delivers in ways traditional liquid versions can only dream of. Applying the foundation is not only mess-free (yay!) but the product also glides on evenly to deliver a velvety, matte finish that is lightweight and flattering for all skin types. The powder-to-cream finish also minimizes the need for powders and diminishes the appearance of pores (and does not leave your skin feeling dry and cakey). For a product that is surprisingly light on the skin, it does indeed last ALL day, which is a dream if you can’t be bothered to touch up your makeup every few hours.

While the foundation’s full-coverage powers are what initially drew us in, its versatility is where the real magic happens. It can be used as a concealer for the under-eye area or unsightly blemishes. Or, if you want a chiseled look that’s oh-so-natural, go three shades darker for the perfect contour shade. Don’t get us wrong — there will ALWAYS be a time and a place for the liquid-based Teint Idole Ultra 24H in our makeup bag, but this proves that sometimes a remake can be just as good as the original.
