This Sunday, I covered the red carpet at Hollywood Life’s fifth annual Style Awards at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
Young Hollywood (Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Jamie Lynn Sigler, AnnaLynne McCord, Emmy Rossum), Old Hollywood (Mitzy Gaynor), music (Ludacris, Eve) and the fashion sets (Bob Mackie, Monique Lhuillier, Matthew Rolston, Tim Quinn) turned out in their best cocktail finest and, of course, with their best face forward.
One of the most poignant and touching moments of the star-studded night was when famed Hollywood makeup artist, Tim Quinn, accepted his Beauty Tsar award. Through tears, he thanked his family, friends and the magazine for honoring him, especially through his battle with cancer last year.
Sims, Sigler, McCord, Bush, Rossum and Bell looked appropriately youthful by keeping their hemlines above the ankle and their makeup clean and polished, an aesthetic nod toward the dewy inclinations of a spring sartorial season, especially with Los Angeles Fashion Week Spring ‘09 coming to a close at Smashbox Studios in Culver City.
Talk about doing Los Angeles in style. And in 48 hours, too.
