- David Yurman formally launched his eponymous eau du parfum at Sak’s Fifth Aveue in New York on Tuesday night. The florally-woodsy scent is a suitable alternative for the Yurman devotee who can’t afford to drop $1,700 on his Pave Tahitian Pearl Ring.
- The Gap is bringing the 90s back. Their popular Gapscent collection — which included Heaven, Grass, Om, Earth and Dream — is hitting the retailer’s shelves once again. Talk about high school nostalgia!
- Chantal Roos, the former head of YSL Beaute, is working with designer Diane von Furstenberg on a new fragrance. DVF has explored the cosmetics side of things before with a scent named after her daughter, Tatiana, as well as a color cosmetics and environmental fragrance collections.
- The market crash in the US is being felt as far as Monaco, where cosmetics giant L’Oreal will shut down their manufacturing and laboratory facilities stationed there. Security, industrial and environmental factors are the apparent cause of the closing, but there is much speculation that the fallings economy has more the do with it.
- Paris Hilton is launching her eighth fragrance through Parlux called Fairy Dust. She’ll be channeling the likes of Tinkerbell and other sylph-like friends in the ad campaigns. Enough said.
