Yesterday, I went to find a birthday present for a girlfriend and ended up discovering a new favorite makeup line: Paul & Joe Beaute.
Paul & Joe, as most fashion-conscious lads and lasses will know, is a clothing label founded and designed by Parisian-born Sophie Albou, who launched the line — named after her two sons — back in 1995.
Since then, Paul & Joe has expanded successfully into the cosmetics arena with Paul & Joe Beaute, which is beautifully-packaged to entice even the most wary and picky of makeup wearers. The cosmetics collection — highly successful in Japan, I was told yesterday — also recently collaborated with Disney on a special cosmetics line based on Walt’s original characters.
As a birthday gift, I ended up purchasing a flora-inspired makeup bag from the brand’s Spring ‘09 Collection Sparkles: Ingenue collection, along with an eyeshadow duo (lilac and shimmering ivory) in luxe packaging that matched the bag.
For a high-end cosmetics line, the $60 I forked over was well worth it.
Plus, I’ll be returning this week to get that makeup bag for myself, birthday or not.
