Celebrity makeup artist Scott Barnes hit it big after scoring Jennifer Lopez as a client and creating that sun-kissed glow she’s known for (recent proof: her look at this year’s Golden Globes, from top to bottom)
Barnes parlayed his newfound fame into a namesake cosmetics line, bottling that signature glow in his popular Body Bling, all of which launched on QVC in 2003. Along with the Body Bling were other best-sellers like loose eye shadow powder, Chic Palettes and shimmery lotions.
Despite great commercial success, it turns out Barnes was having trouble seeing eye-to-eye shadowed-eye with his investors, Onyx Capital Investment, and the two parties recently parted ways. Don’t underestimate the man, though, because he’s not going out like that; he’s looking to be back as soon as a suitable financial partner is found.
The makeup artist is currently working on a book called About Face and looking to branch out into a skincare collection in the near future.
This world hasn’t seen the last of Barnes’ bling just yet.
