If someone asked me what sense I couldn’t live without, it would be sight.
That’s why it is increasingly important for me to protect my peepers in any way possible — which includes not wearing my contact lenses for 16 hours straight, eating as many carrots as possible (kidding) and using organic mascara — because anything you put on the skin, especially near the eyes, is just as important as what you put in the body.
When I’m talking mascara, I mean the kind without parabens, petrolatum, formaldehyde and tar.
I’m talking these brands:
NVEY ECO. Try the brand’s Organic Moisturizing Mascara.
Lavera. I’m a fan of their Volume Mascara No. 2 in Blue.
Aveda. Their Mascara Plus Rose in Espresso contains natural beeswax and a soothing rose aroma that’ll go great with a swipe of Smith’s Rosebud Salve on the lips.
Josie Maran. The former Maybelline model launched her namesake organic cosmetic line to rave reviews among beauty editors, especially in context to her mascara with Argan oil, Jojoba oil and beeswax (no clumps!).
When it comes to peepers, protected is much better than pretty. Though a little mascara might help.
