Breast Cancer Month Beauty Products

You have probably seen a lot of pink ribbons around since last Wednesday hit, and that’s because October is Breast Cancer Awareness (BCA) month.

Fashion brands and cosmetics companies rally annually to raise money and public profile of the disease, conceptualizing products or participating in collaborations wrapped in swaths of pink hues and then donating part or all proceeds to the research of breast cancer.

If you want to do your part this month, then pick up some of these products:

1. Anastasia Beverly Hills WCRF Tweezers ($35). These pale pink hair-pluckers are studded in a Swarovski crystal version of the universal breast cancer ribbon symbol, plus 25 percent of sales go toward the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

2. Emergen-C Pink. These vitamin-infused tablets are a cult beauty fave for imparting energy, but the brand’s pink version benefits the Keep A Breast Foundation. Snap them up at a Whole Foods near you.

3. Aveda Hand Relief moisturizer ($10). This product keeps your hands supple throughout fall in winter, as well as works toward raising $280,000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

4. Philip Kingsley No Scent No Colour Shampoo and Conditioner E Duo (£12 and £15). Kingsley created this coupling when his wife went through radiotherapy — both are sensitive enough for those undergoing any sort of cancer treatment. A portion of the sales goes toward the Look Good Feel Better charity.

5. ghd IV Pink Styler Iron (£135). This bright pink, limited-edition straightening iron not only leaves your locks shiny and straight, a part of the sales benefit Breakthrough Breast Cancer.
