CVS Pharmacy is really amping up their beauty counters.
In fact, those beauty counters are turning into full-size product emporiums called Beauty 360. Each location will be filled with brands and products you only usually see in department or specialty stores, and the plan is to give similar concepts like Sephora and Ulta a run for their money.
Mike Bloom, CVS’ senior vice president of merchandising, divulged to WWD that the first stores will open in one major city on the east coast, followed by one major city on the west coast, which are rumored to be Washington, D.C. and Sacramento, CA.
CVS is keeping mum on names in their Beauty 360 brand portfolio, but have confirmed 32 brands (not including fragrance) are already on board. The long-term plan is to have 500 to 1,000 stores open in the end.
The question here is are you willing to curb Sephora shopping trips to browse at Beauty 360??
