Rockin’ The Natural Skin Care
Living a raucous, fast city existence is kind of what happens to single city gals in their (ahem) twenties — after all, it’s the only time you’ll be able to work hard and play hard with slim to none inklings of regret.
This said “raucous” lifestyle usually consists of a full day’s work (mine being in front of my MacbBook for most of it), evening events (yesterday it was a store opening) and potentially post-shindig beverages. Then comes the weekend, fueled by dinner, girls’ nights out and Sunday eggs benny brunches followed by a lazy Sunday afternoon.
I almost don’t want to think of what kind of trauma us young professional ladies put our bodies through living the fun life, but maybe — just maybe — its effects can be counteracted with holistic body products touting aromatherapy and naturopathy goodness.
I’m thinking Bod for my body.
This Australian-based range of facial oils, clarifying masks, cleansing gels, body scrubs, body butters, lip balms, baby products (called bubbaloo) and bath salts was conceptualized by former Aussie rocker, Brett Pattinson. His hard-playing rock and roll lifestyle left much to be desired physically and mentally, so he turned to homeopathy, Tai Chi and shiatsu to regain much needed balance.
Pattinson makes sure he’s involved in every part of the creation process, right from research and development to packaging. He packs his body care line with chemical-free ingredients and eschews petrochemicals, artificial scents, animals products, sulphates and (dreaded!) parabens. Bod is packaged practically in dark-colored bottles to preserve its shelf life and protect from heat, light and air natural elements, so you don’t have to worry about forking over $90 a month for that miniscule jar of La Mer.
Time to get this Bod in motion.

Good for Brett Pattinson! He is so right that everything in life is about balance. The rock & roll lifestyle, with its late nights and constant excitement & travel has got to be hard on the human body. Sleeping during the day and being awake all night, like he must have done, adds additional stress. So hopefully Brett and the rest of us will not only look better – but actually BE better and healthier. Hopefully this trend away from chemicals will continue to thrive and grow.
