Today, a very interesting news item came out about the FDA reporting that glaucoma drugs appear to make eyelashes look longer and fuller when applied to the lash base.
This brings up the question, should drugs used to treat health conditions be used for cosmetic purposes?
Though some patients reported at least “minimal” growth with Lumigan (the current market name), a few dropped out of the study because of irritation and redness of the eye.
That’s enough to make me pass.

Yes, I’m completely guilty of brand abandonment.
Faster than a cop takes down a box of Krispy Kreme, I shamefully ditched my trusty shu uemura eyelash curler for a newer model, the Tarte Picture Perfect Eyelash curler, with its curvy ergonomics luring me to use it pre-mascara application.
I’m an eyelash nazi.
The curl has to be the curliest it can go and each lash has to be darkened as dramatically as possible with the mascara brand I’m obsessing over at that moment (read: Maybelline’s The Colossal Volum Express in Glam Black). I’ve spent my money on shu uemura and Shiseido eyelash curlers, and even more dollar bills on eyelash primers. Yup, I wasn’t lying when I said eyelash nazi.
