Curly Hair Care Tips
Are you one of the countless, curly-haired girls that always wished she had straight hair? While straightening one’s naturally wavy hair can be beautiful, thanks to modern technology (or better hair products, at least), you can now have curls that cater to you, instead of the other way around.
Here are some tips for every Curly Sue out there:
* Don’t wash your locks too often. Try skipping a day to avoid stripping your hair of its natural oils.
* If you can, run cold water over hair at the end of your shower to seal hair cuticles.
* Gently pat your hair dry with a towel. Aggressive friction against your wet hair increases frizziness.
* Use a wide-toothed comb to easily comb out tangles.
* Apply a light leave in conditioner to maintain soft waves and curls. Try Hamadi Shea Leave In, which provides light, non-sticky moisture for your hair.

Q: My hair feels like it’s gained a hefty 10 pounds. After all the leave-in conditioners, high-gloss serums, waxes, mousse and hairspray I use constantly week after week, my mane is getting weighed down. How do I make it light, bouncy and shiny again? This product gunk has to go.
A: Two words: clarifying shampoo. Believe [...]

Aveeno is creator of the one face wash that has never let me down: their Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser.
Packed “with salicyclic acid and moisture-rich soy extracts”, this stuff keeps my face clear of lumps and bumps and other things you’d rather not see, despite being a brand usually found at local drugstores and not your [...]

Q: The winter cold is making my mane a hot mess. Frizz, split ends, static — you name it, my hair has it. How can I protect my precious hair shafts from looking like I stuck my finger in an electric socket throughout the entire chilly season?

Your average male is oddly secretive when it comes to fashion and beauty.
Men go through great lengths to ensure you don’t find out they flip through your glossy magazines (likely reading up on those Cosmo tips!) and rifle through your beauty arsenal when you’re not around, but if they happen to be over and need some hair product, they’ll sheepishly ask. The best thing to do, in this case, is provide them with a wee arsenal of their own.
My recommendation is to go with Every Man Jack, an afforable, male-conscious range of products — for hair, body, skin and shave — made in the great NoCal city of San Francisco.

We’ve all been there before.
The shrieking alarm goes off at 7 am and you turn it off, deciding to rest your eyes for just another five minutes. Five minutes turns into a full-on hour, and suddenly, you’re scrambling into work clothes and hightailing it to the office sans shower.
Sometimes pulling your mane into a ponytail isn’t enough to hide greasy bangs and roots. That’s when you should have Principessa Bianco Breeze Hair & Body Powder underneath the sink. This powder takes care of more than your mane — it also doubles as a dirty body savior, sopping up extra oils with its chamomile, calendula, Vitamin E and aloe ingredient combination. And it smells as pretty as the package looks.

No one else defines edgy, low-key downtown style the way Erin Wasson does, simply by being Erin.
The bicoastal skater girl-turned-model-turned-stylist-turned-designer has gone from mugging for squeaky clean Maybelline cosmetics to styling designer it-boy Alexander Wang’s Fall ‘08 runway, designing her LowLuv jewelry line, starring with Justin Timberlake in his “I Am William Rast” ad campaign and co-designing a highly-anticipated collection with skate lifestyle brand RVCA.
Cutoff shorts, chunky flat boots, feather headdresses, oversized blazers, men’s tees, carefree hair, enviable accessories, smokey voice, beanies and black define Wasson’s personal style, something that has since been well-documented across the hippest of hip fashion sites (Style.com), blogs (Fashion Toast) and magazines (NYLON).

Victoria Beckham’s hair grew a good 18 inches since debuting her uber-short pixie cut a month ago.
The only way this is humanly possible is by the miracle of extensions and, of course, a Vogue India magazine cover.
Posh’s hair hasn’t been this long and lush since, well, ever.

On a normal day, I admire Agyness Deyn, the Brit model who toppled Kate Moss from Tatler’s Best Dressed throne this year.
Deyn is now an ubiquitous figure on the scene, landing major contracts and gallavanting around town with her boyfriend, Albert Hammond Jr., namely the drummer for The Strokes’ drummer who recently branched out to do a solo gig.
Anyway, back to Deyn.
The end of October is slowly creeping up, meaning November is almost here.
This, in turn, means holiday season has begun and invitations to parties and Christmas company gatherings are stamped, in the mail and in need of your RSVP. Holiday soirees are best for swilling free Dom or Veuve, wearing that sparkly new LBD and, of course, debuting a fabulous hairdo.
That’s where Chris Funk comes in.
