The Big Debate: Liquid Foundation vs. Powder Foundation
Are you a powder foundation fan or a liquid foundation fanatic? Or are you one of those women who use both hoping for extra coverage? Here’s a breakdown of each type of foundation and who it’s best for.
Liquid foundations tend to be more moisturizing than powder foundations. They also absorb into the skin instead of resting on top of it, which can give you a more natural skin finish. If you choose not to dust powder on top, liquid foundation will give your skin a dewy appearance. Liquid foundation is beneficial to women with dry skin or who want a natural look. For a great liquid foundation, try Lola Cosmetics Oil-Free Sheer Liquid Foundation because it will give you a polished no-makeup look.
Powder foundations are just what they say. They are a powder-based color that comes in either compact form or loose-powder form. Although compact powder foundations are not drying, they do tend to absorb excess oil from the skin. Powder foundation gives the skin a matte look and is a perfect choice for people who are looking for a flawless appearance. Powder foundation is also excellent for moist climates because it will soak up excess shine from humidity in the air. A great powder foundation to use is Paula Dorf Perfect Glo Foundation because it is weightless on the skin.
For those of you wanting the best of both worlds, there are also wet/dry or cream to powder foundations. These types of foundations are perfect if you vary between the choices. You are able to use the dry like you would any other compact powder foundation and you can add water to the sponge to make it a cream or liquid instead.

For a generation hellbent on instant gratification, online shopping is quickly becoming the norm when having to buy presents for one’s self or others.
Thanks to major e-tailers like Shopbop.com, Zappos.com, Yoox.com, Bluefly.com and Makeup.com, fashion and beauty junkies can shop for Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses, Gucci riding boots and Ole Henriksen scrubs in pajamas — no need to go through the pain of having the dress up in order to avoid shopping discrimination, a la Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’.
Fulfilling your favorite beauty junkie’s holiday wish list — even if it means it’s your own — is going to be easier than ever this 2008.

Clowns are for kids and circuses, not for the hip, professional woman wearing her favorite NARS blush.
Unless you’re Anna Piaggi, who has the world’s sole “Get Out Of Jail Free” card for applying perfectly round circles of blush to apple cheeks, every blush-toting lady needs to learn the rules of application.
