Q: How did you get started in makeup artistry?
CH: I have loved makeup since I was a kid. One of my favorite toys was my “Hugo: Man of a Thousand Faces!” [...]

Angela Bassett did it first at the 2009 Critics’ Choice Awards.
Then Mrs. Tom Cruise — aka. Katie Holmes — recently followed suit while supporting her A-list hubby at the UK premiere of Valkyrie.
Oh, the power of lilac eye shadow.
This shade is perfect for those with a dark (like Bassett) or an olive (like Holmes) complexion [...]

I swear the biggest reasons that one of the popular girls in my high school was popular was because of her perfectly angled cat’s-eye, drawn on daily with liquid liner.
I’ll admit, she looked great, but the liquid liner was a little too dramatic for my liking.
Fast forward years later to now, when thoughts of cat’s-eye makeup effects for the holidays and New Year’s Eve seem like a really, really good idea.
Thanks to POP Beauty’s Cat Eyes Automatic Pencil (which was a gift!), I can give myself the look in a less dramatic way because the brand’s pencil is a easy-to-draw-on kohl, not steadfast liquid, so if you make a big boo-boo of a mistake, it’s quite easily fixable. Plus, these angled pencils give you more control over how high or long you want that cat-eye.
