New York Fashion Week is approaching its mid-cycle, with more than 20 well-known designers — both established and rising (hello, Jason Wu!) — having sent their Fall ‘09 collections down the runway.
One of the most amazing makeup jobs I’ve seen so far was on British-born model (and mannequin du jour) Jourdan Dunn at the 50th [...]

It seems that just before attention shifts from the menswear shows in Milan (and the blazing row between Giorgio Armani and Dolce & Gabbana over “trousergate”) to the tents of Bryant Park, a few major brands have announced the launch of new men’s fragrances.
With Valentine’s Day around the corner, one might be thinking of what [...]

Dust off your YSL Tributes or — if you’re lucky (or a magazine editor) — get used to tottering around for twelve hours (and more) straight in your new Nicholas Kirkwoods.
New York Fashion Week — running from February 13 to February 20 — is almost here.
Despite the constant doom and gloom, the shuttering of stores [...]

Look out, Paris.
L’Oreal has been working with it-boy French designer Alexis Mabille on a top secret product, which is set to debut on January 26 at the couture shows in Paris.
Stayed tuned with All Made Up when it happens!

This Sunday, I covered the red carpet at Hollywood Life’s fifth annual Style Awards at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
Young Hollywood (Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Jamie Lynn Sigler, AnnaLynne McCord, Emmy Rossum), Old Hollywood (Mitzy Gaynor), music (Ludacris, Eve) and the fashion sets (Bob Mackie, Monique Lhuillier, Matthew Rolston, Tim Quinn) turned out in their best cocktail finest and, of course, with their best face forward.

LA Fashion Week begins in t-minus 24 hours (actually in less), which means there will be enough Kevan Hall, Whitley Kros, Crispin & Basilio, VOOM by Joy Han and Lauren Conrad to go around.
Instead of going with the prototypical dark, fall nail colors for front-row, I suggest going high-octane and Warholian in color with the limited-edition Robertson Boulevard collection from Chanel, masterminded by the French fashion house’s Global Creative Director of Makeup, Peter Philips.

At Marc Jacobs’ Louis Vuitton Spring ‘09 presentation in Paris, his roster of models channeled Old Hollywood glamour — think Marlene Dietrich with bright, glossy red lips, black lined eyes and barely-there eyebrows.

Christian Lacroix must’ve been bitten by the Betsey Johnson bug, because his models’ hair looked a lot like hers: big volume, blunt bags and crimps.
Runways are the way to spot trends sartorial and beauty — so is the crimp making a comeback from the 80s?

On the runways of Maison Martin Margiela in Paris, the models wore wigs and stockings that covered their faces. Let’s hope this is NOT a new hair trend for 2009.
The Cindy Lou-esque hairpieces at Christian Dior took a whopping three days for Orlando Pita to make and were so heavy, model Chanel Iman said it “felt like we all got a three-hour face-lift treatment”. Let’s hope this is also NOT a new hair trend for 2009.

One of the best-kept secrets at New York Fashion was not what backdoor entrance Anna Wintour was coming through or just what Leighton Meester was taking to make it front-row to all those Spring ‘09 shows.
New York Fashion Week’s best-kept secret came from the French Alps in a spray bottle: The Evian Brumisateur.
