One of the biggest benefits of attending swanky red carpet soirees — that have to do with fashion — is the perk of exiting said soiree with a serious bag of swag.
My Hollywood Life Style Awards goodie cachet came with the usuals like tees, soaps and gift certificates, but surprisingly my favorite swag was a big bottle of Jessica Simpson’s first-ever fragrance, Fancy.

Into storage went the cottons and linens and out of storage came the wool and cashmere.
Now that the air is beyond just a bit chilly, wearing cashmere sweaters is honestly one of the better ways to get through any grey, winter day.
That, and sipping on a pumpkin spice latte.

Esteban Cortezar is a busy, busy boy lately.
The prodigious designer was recently tapped to be creative director at Emanuel Ungaro, delivering two commendable collections for the Parisian couture fashion house thus far.

One Tree Hill’s Sophia Bush and Forgetting Sarah Marshall’s Kristen Bell (also of Heroes and Gossip Girl) both shone on the red carpet of Hollywood Life’s fifth annual Style Awards in their Helmut Lang and Monique Lhuillier dresses with polished makeup.

This Sunday, I covered the red carpet at Hollywood Life’s fifth annual Style Awards at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles.
Young Hollywood (Kristen Bell, Sophia Bush, Jamie Lynn Sigler, AnnaLynne McCord, Emmy Rossum), Old Hollywood (Mitzy Gaynor), music (Ludacris, Eve) and the fashion sets (Bob Mackie, Monique Lhuillier, Matthew Rolston, Tim Quinn) turned out in their best cocktail finest and, of course, with their best face forward.

Too Faced cosmetics collaborated with Kipling bags for their Kipling Loves Too Faced limited-edition collection.
These covetable, chic totes and cases are filled with Too Faced goodies, like the “Glamour Eyes” collection with its Lovey Dovey Duo Eye Shadow, Mini Ooh & Aah Starry Eyed Liner, Mini Black Lash Injection and Mini Colorless Application Shadow Insurance. The black bag can also double as an evening clutch and the Too Faced Loves Kipling Collector’s charm is…

At Marc Jacobs’ Louis Vuitton Spring ‘09 presentation in Paris, his roster of models channeled Old Hollywood glamour — think Marlene Dietrich with bright, glossy red lips, black lined eyes and barely-there eyebrows.

On the runways of Maison Martin Margiela in Paris, the models wore wigs and stockings that covered their faces. Let’s hope this is NOT a new hair trend for 2009.
The Cindy Lou-esque hairpieces at Christian Dior took a whopping three days for Orlando Pita to make and were so heavy, model Chanel Iman said it “felt like we all got a three-hour face-lift treatment”. Let’s hope this is also NOT a new hair trend for 2009.

Yesterday night, I attended an event thrown by a fabulous publicist friend of mine, who recently cropped her hair into a bob just at ear length, a la Yves Saint Laurent Fall ‘08.
Despite the shift in weather, chic women in major fashion cities are taking a cue from the Victoria Beckhams, Rihannas and Katie Holmes of the world, shearing their long locks into short styles. The bob, over the years, has morphed from the single, straight cut of yesteryear into a myriad of styles to suit different personalities and comfort levels:

The Parisian cool go to one place for all their fashion, music, art and design needs: Colette.
Colette and Aeroports de Paris, who operate Charles de Gaulle Airport, have come up with a limited-edition travel beauty kit called “Kit de Beaute Colette pour Aeroports de Paris” that happily conforms to those pesky, annoying security requirements — I know a girl who had to forfeit her Smith’s Rosebud Salve because of them. Not good.
