Abigail Lorick, whose designs are the actual ones behind Gossip Girl’s Eleanor Waldorf, had one of the most anticipated New York Fashion Week showings.
Her presentation eschewed the crush of Bryant Park tent attendees and was instead held at a more intimate venue disguised as a cake party. With lemon cocktails. It was all very Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette, minus the tight corsets, towering wigs and Jason Schwartzmann. The Lorick models wore extremely doll-like makeup — think lots of blue eyeshadow and bright pink, matte lipstick.

Fashion and beauty are the Bobbsey Twins of aesthetics.
There are supermodels masterminding the colors of eyeshadow palettes (Daria Werbowy for Lancome) and beauty companies enlisting style icons to pump up their lines for the masses (Cory Kennedy for Urban Decay).
Henri Bendel is a usual shopping destination for characters on Gossip Girl, but this past Sunday night, stars of the hit show turned out to celebrate YSL Beaute’s new Rouge Volupte lip collection ($34 per tube).
Leighton Meester (in Yves Saint Laurent), Taylor Momsen (in Coven and Doma), Nicole Fiscella (in Herve Leger), Kelly Rutherford (in Mischen) and Matthew Settle toasted the new lip product, as well as Gossip Girl costume designer Eric Daman’s GG-inspired Henri Bendel window display.
