Q: My hair feels like it’s gained a hefty 10 pounds. After all the leave-in conditioners, high-gloss serums, waxes, mousse and hairspray I use constantly week after week, my mane is getting weighed down. How do I make it light, bouncy and shiny again? This product gunk has to go.
A: Two words: clarifying shampoo. Believe [...]

Aveeno is creator of the one face wash that has never let me down: their Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser.
Packed “with salicyclic acid and moisture-rich soy extracts”, this stuff keeps my face clear of lumps and bumps and other things you’d rather not see, despite being a brand usually found at local drugstores and not your [...]

Now here’s a name that gets less and less used in tabloids these days: Paris Hilton.
The peroxide blonde heiress is one the last the get on the bobbed hair train — a look that is on its way out, by the way, being replaced by extensions again — but get on the train she did.
What [...]

Remember Daisy Fuentes?
The one-time MTV veejay and television show host was huge, huge, huge in the late nineties and early 2000s — she was kind of like the poor man’s Cindy Crawford, with really good hair.
Fuentes is launching a nine-piece haircare collection called Daisy Fuentes Style Pro this coming March, as a way to pay [...]

Cold weather equals dry hands — hand cream is my best friend right now.
Cold weather also happens to equal split ends. Terrible, terrible split ends so long and deep, a haircut is often required to get rid of the problem.
Or at least a pair of trimming scissors to use during Gossip Girl commercials breaks.
Split ends [...]

Scheduling waxing appointments and forking over the dollar bills for them every four to six weeks doesn’t sound like money best spent in this current rise of the recessionista.
So how about getting those hairs annihilated in one shot, one price then?
Before going about setting up a consultation to get your hair zapped into oblivion, please, please, please ladies, I implore you to be VERY careful when choosing your laser hair removal clinic or esthetician.

For a generation hellbent on instant gratification, online shopping is quickly becoming the norm when having to buy presents for one’s self or others.
Thanks to major e-tailers like Shopbop.com, Zappos.com, Yoox.com, Bluefly.com and Makeup.com, fashion and beauty junkies can shop for Marc by Marc Jacobs dresses, Gucci riding boots and Ole Henriksen scrubs in pajamas — no need to go through the pain of having the dress up in order to avoid shopping discrimination, a la Julia Roberts in ‘Pretty Woman’.
Fulfilling your favorite beauty junkie’s holiday wish list — even if it means it’s your own — is going to be easier than ever this 2008.

Today is Friday, but it’s not just any old Friday.
This Friday is also known as “Black Friday”, which is also known as the first day of the Christmas shopping season.
Besides bagging new clothes (Kova & T leggings for sure), a couple pairs of shoes (Sam Edelman Lombardo booties in grey) and some accessories (another chunky cocktail ring, perhaps?), I wouldn’t mind picking up a few good things for my ever-burgeoning beauty stash.

Q: The winter cold is making my mane a hot mess. Frizz, split ends, static — you name it, my hair has it. How can I protect my precious hair shafts from looking like I stuck my finger in an electric socket throughout the entire chilly season?

We’ve all been there before.
The shrieking alarm goes off at 7 am and you turn it off, deciding to rest your eyes for just another five minutes. Five minutes turns into a full-on hour, and suddenly, you’re scrambling into work clothes and hightailing it to the office sans shower.
Sometimes pulling your mane into a ponytail isn’t enough to hide greasy bangs and roots. That’s when you should have Principessa Bianco Breeze Hair & Body Powder underneath the sink. This powder takes care of more than your mane — it also doubles as a dirty body savior, sopping up extra oils with its chamomile, calendula, Vitamin E and aloe ingredient combination. And it smells as pretty as the package looks.
