There’s more to Brazil than Gisele Bundchen, Carnaval, plastic surgery and beach stretches of beautiful people.
Exports from this South American country are not only relegated to models like Caroline Ribeiro, Raquel Zimmerman, Ana Beatriz Barros and Adriana Lima. In fact, Brazil’s latest popular export is good FOR the body, not just a good body.
What am I [...]

Who said moist toilette wipes were just for babies and patrons at the local Tony Roma’s joint?
Sometimes you touch a sketchy public door, shake the questionable hands of a business associate, eat a giant piece of garlic at lunch, get a smudge on your Chanel frames, chip your nail polish or find something mysteriously sticky [...]

Every woman at some point in her life — especially when those crow’s feet start getting rather prominent — wishes she could have a big gulp from a fountain of youth.
She’d travel far and wide in five-inch stilettos if necessary.
This said fountain of youth may no longer be just a myth, ladies.
Okay, well, it may [...]

Scheduling waxing appointments and forking over the dollar bills for them every four to six weeks doesn’t sound like money best spent in this current rise of the recessionista.
So how about getting those hairs annihilated in one shot, one price then?
Before going about setting up a consultation to get your hair zapped into oblivion, please, please, please ladies, I implore you to be VERY careful when choosing your laser hair removal clinic or esthetician.

Getting eight hours sleep has somehow become a serious luxury these days.
What with work stress, relationships, deadlines, bills and life in general, a round of shut-eye for six hours is considered absolutely fantastic.
The holiday season doesn’t really help out self-induced insomnia issues, with people flitting from this party to that party downing bubbly, so by the time Christmas dinner avec the family comes around, one might look a little…haggard.

If someone asked me what sense I couldn’t live without, it would be sight.
That’s why it is increasingly important for me to protect my peepers in any way possible — which includes not wearing my contact lenses for 16 hours straight, eating as many carrots as possible (kidding) and using organic mascara — because anything you put on the skin, especially near the eyes, is just as important as what you put in the body.
When I’m talking mascara, I mean the kind without parabens, petrolatum, formaldehyde and tar.

Thanksgiving is officially over.
Leftover turkey has been stuffed into tupperware (enough for sandwiches for the next week), stuffing has been eaten to the last bread crumb, spilled cranberry sauce has been mopped up, family has departed and extra pumpkin pie has been inhaled.
But what to do with the pumpkin bits left from the pie-making process?
I say turn it into a homemade pumpkin foot scrub!

The annual November chill wreaks havoc on all things: your hair, boots, skin, clothes and attitude in general.
After all, no one likes nights that roll in at 4 pm — and no one likes torrential downpours that equate frizz and frazzle.
I suppose the two bright spots in November are Thanksgiving long weekends and the excuse to really start jotting down a wish list of things you wouldn’t mind finding under your tree for the holidays.
Here is a little wish list of top five beauty products that will keep you pretty right into the New Year and will make it a very happy holiday, indeed.

Skip the Americano mistos, soy vanilla lattes and non-sugar mochas.

When one goes from fashionista to recessionista, things that equate luxury and anything related to the good life get a serious trimming.
The trimming trickle-down effect seeps into other areas, too, which makes budget-conscious folk begin to cut out things like buying organic, healthy food and forking over money for fancy gym memberships.
Not good.
