Brighten Your Week!

Office makeup doesn’t have to be limited to nudes and browns. You can still look professional, even while showing your true colors. Follow our guide below to inject your boardroom style with these fresh, out-of-the-box hues.
When you want to wear hot pink to work:
If you work in a creative field, a sheer, hot pink lipstick like Dior Dior Addict Lipstick in Reflet 763 can give off a fun, youthful vibe while still being boardroom appropriate. The key to making it work? Avoid formulas with shimmer (too disco), and pair with a little light foundation, a thin flick of liquid eyeliner, and a smidge of black mascara. That's it.
When you want to wear plum to work:
It may seem punk, but purple hues around the eyes can actually make brown irises look warm and more intense. Rim the lower lashlines with a creamy pencil in a deep eggplant shade (we like Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes Eyeliner in Shimmering Plum) for a hint of color that won’t take you too far out of your comfort zone. Stick with just rosy cheeks to complete the look.
When you want to wear green to work:
Think of olive shadow as your new go-to taupe. This subtle hue flatters all eye colors, and is soft enough to pull off during the day. Apply a sheer wash all over your lids, and coat lashes with brown mascara. Add peach blush and a sheer peachy brown gloss for a finish that’s polished and understated. Try Yves Saint Laurent Ombres 5 Lumieres 5 Colour Harmony For Eyes-6 Garden of Eden.
When you want to wear coral to work:
It’s not just for summer! Creamy, coral blush like Josie Maran Cream Blush in Sunset can give your complexion just the boost it needs during winter’s chill. Just choose a shade that has more pink undertones than orange to complement less than bronzed skin. Finish with deep brown eyeliner, mascara, and a gloss in a fresh, nectar shade.
When you want to wear red to work:
An instant confidence booster, red will make everyone sit up and take notice. Save this shade (in a sheer lipstick like Lorac Sheer Lipstick in Just Kissed, or glossy nail polish like Essie Nail Polish in A-List) for days when you’ve got a major presentation. Just make sure to keep the rest of your makeup low-key and polished (think groomed brows, minimal blush, and clear, glowing skin) and tips neat and short.
