The One Beauty Trick to Disguise Your Seasonal Sniffles

When your nose starts a snifflin’ and is as red as Rudolph’s — it’s that time of year. Team MDC has your back on all things beauty and this is one of those times. A red, itchy nose is hard to cover up with concealer or foundation because it all tends to flake right off. In some cases, it even brings more attention to dry, peeling skin — no fun, right? Before working your makeup magic, try this winter skin saving tip from our gal, makeup artist Brooke Kehoe.

All you need is Aquaphor and Desitin.
“If there’s any sort of dryness, that’s where the Aquaphor comes into play and Desitin is full of zinc, which is a great anti-inflammatory. Mix a dot of Aquaphor in with Desitin and apply it to the sides of your nose (like a primer) to create a waterproof seal of hydration,” says Kehoe.

Not only will this combo reduce redness and take care of the peeling, but you won’t need to use nearly as much makeup! Once you’ve applied your mixed base, just use a small brush like Giorgio Armani Concealer Brush and swipe on a light layer of L’Oréal Paris True Match Concealer in your shade and you’re good to go!
