She Nailed It: The Chanel Haute Couture Manicure

You don't have to spend a small fortune to get the look of Chanel this season. Thanks to Karl Lagerfeld who "evoked the idea of using two shades on one nail," according to Peter Philips, Creative Director of Chanel Makeup, the coveted (and attainable) item seen on the Haute Couture catwalk was the manicure. Create it using these simple steps:
Step 1: Apply a base coat. Try: L'Oreal Colour Riche Nail in One Stop Base.
Step 2: Swipe two coats of silver nail polish on "the whole outline of the nail," says Philips. Try: Essie No Place Like Chrome. (Philips actually used Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in Silver, but it's a vintage shade that's no longer available. Perhaps it's time to bring it back?)
Step 3: Next, use two coats of pink crème polish to "cover both the center and the tip of the nail," says Philips. Try: Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour in May. It's almost as if you're painting a tiny nail in the center of your natural nail.
Step 4: Finish with a quick drying top coat. Try: Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat.
Will you try this runway-worthy manicure?
