Nothing spoils a relaxing evening in (or date night) like remembering that it’s time to wash your hair. As girls, we know in advance that washing, drying and styling can be a two-hour hair experience (at least!) of over-heating and balls of frizz flying everywhere. Thankfully, there are a few tricks to speeding up the blowdrying process, so that you can actually make it to your dinner reservation on time!
Quick Dry Products
Did you know that there are hair products out there specifically formulated to speed up the blowdrying process? Well, now you know! They offer protection from heat as well as ensure lasting volume, shine and less breakage. And best of all? They react with heat to allow for reduced dry-time.
Pro-quality hair tools make ALL the difference. Look for a mighty watt blow dryer that can tame frizz in a flash! Keep an eye out for words like “ceramic” (allows heat to penetrate the hair shaft to preserve shine), “ionic” (reduces surface tension for a frizz-free look) and “tourmaline” (seals the cuticle layer for a smooth and speedy dry).
The easiest way to save on drying time — rough-dry hair until it’s 80 percent dry before you begin styling with a round brush. This will cut down your blowdrying sesh tremendously!
Direct the Heat
If you’re wobbling and waving that blow dryer all over the place, you’ll never get done styling! The key to quickly smoothing strands is applying a direct flow of heat down the hair shaft. Hold the blow dryer a few inches away from your head and dry each section by angling the nozzle downward, so that the stream of warm air moves from your roots to your ends.
