1. Flawless Base: Create a smooth base for your look by using a light-reflecting face primer like Giorgio Armani Light Makeup Master Primer before applying foundation. Then, bring your cheekbones to light with a peachy-keen blush — Willis used Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Pink Frosting.

2. Copper Shadow: Sweep a shimmery copper shadow like Urban Decay Easy Baked over your entire lid and along your lash line.

As women, we all know when our skin is not looking its best. We look into the mirror and see the aftermath of the sun, stress, lack of sleep and a poor diet. That vacation in Cabo last week? While it may have been a good time, your skin is definitely paying for the sun worshiping you did for seven days straight. As you sat on the beach with your margarita, the sun’s powerful UV rays promoted the over-production of melanin, a dark-colored pigment that gives hair, eyes and skin their color.

Consequently, this causes dark spots and age spots, which can ultimately make skin look dull and lifeless. In addition, sometimes when the skin becomes inflamed with bacteria, hyper-pigmentation occurs. We’ve all experienced this — we go to bed and when we wake up, we have three new (unwelcome) guests on our cheeks and chin. When our little friends go away, they may have left behind a skin stain that causes even more pigment to be produced, resulting in an uneven skin tone.

Scary, I know. But not to worry: There are many skin brighteners on the market that are made to target dullness (including dark spots) and ultimately help you get your glow back.  Here are three key ingredients to look for when choosing a skin brightener:

Vitamin C is crucial for your body to function.  More specifically, when it comes to treating age spots, vitamin C is the name of the game! Essentially, age spots are damaged skin cells.  Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that protects against UV rays and even repairs fine lines and discoloration.

Vitamin B speeds up cell metabolism and promotes healthy skin. Vitamin B holds the key to glowing skin and also protects against eczema.  It’s an antioxidant that helps to increase blood circulation, which also protects us from the dullness-causing effects of aging, smoking and alcohol consumption.

Vitamin A assists with cell turnover, allowing new fresh skin cells to rise to the surface. When using a Vitamin A, be sure to read the directions and take precautionary measures, as it is known to cause irritation. Many people using prescription-strength vitamin A have to start out slowly and apply only two or three times a week.

Most skin brighteners come in a serum form and are mainly used at night under your moisturizer.  Dead skin cells block the active ingredients of skin brighteners, so make sure that you exfoliate to allow the formula to penetrate.  Lastly, skin brighteners will not work as well without use of a sunscreen, preferably one with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide, which specifically protects the skin from burning and prevents pigment changes.

Ladies with long locks, this sleek rolled tuck is the answer to your wedding day prayers. Calm your inner Bridezilla and give it a whirl — you’ll be much better equipped to channel your “blushing bride” side afterwards, trust us.

Supplies:

1 thin hair elastic
Bobby pins

1. Put your hair in a low ponytail and secure with a thin elastic.

2. Pull the hair right above your elastic into two sections.

3. Loop your ponytail between the two sections and pull to secure and tighten.

4. Flip your ponytail upward again and pin it in place right above the original loop, leaving a few inches of hair out.

5. Take the remaining ends of your hair and loop it in a clockwise direction on the left, pinning in the center.

6. Loop the remaining amount of hair in a counter-clockwise direction on the right. Pin everything in place and finish with a spritz of hairspray to tame any extra flyaways.

Today let’s recreate a classic — the ponytail. Attaining just the right amount of effortless appeal balanced with the ideal level of structure may sound complicated but it doesn’t have to be.

1. Flip your hair over and give it a generous dry shampoo covering. Focus on the top of your head, at the roots. Be careful not to spray too close to your head or you may see the white powder. Keep the bottle about 5 inches from your head when spraying. Massage the dry shampoo into your scalp, creating texture and leaving your hair looking so fresh and so clean.

2. Gather hair into the location on your head where a relaxed ponytail feels best. Try for one additional ponytail elastic loop for a tighter, cleaner finish.

3. Pin any large flyaways back with bobby pins. Spray a small amount of hairspray into your fingertips and push any remaining flyaways back.

4. The ends of our hair tend to show the most damage, especially when they are dry. Put 2-3 drops of hair oil into your hands. Spend a full 10 seconds rubbing your hands together. Put the bottom third of your ponytail in between your hands and pull it through again and again until most of the oil is off your hands. And bonus! Any leftover oil is great for dry spots on your hands and elbows.

5. Add your own personal flair. Now you are prepped to perfection— there’s something to be said about distraction. Give those curious onlookers something to admire about your ‘do. We are talking serious ponytail swag here.

Put a bow on it. Use something as simple as a printed Emi-Jay hair tie to fasten your ponytail, or add a bow with colorful ribbon. Cut a ribbon in your signature color about 28 inches long and tie a bow right over the elastic holding your pony in place.

Curl your ponytail with a straightener. Loose, laid back curls are achievable! Heat up your straightener and get to work.

Add texture. Apply a texturizing powder and take a moment to tease your ponytail for a little more va va voom volume.

Classic Line

1. Start at the inner corner of your eye and sweep the eyeliner outward, gradually making the line thicker as you get closer to the outer edge of your eye.

2. Extend the liner past the edge of your eye at a slight angle, following the curve of your lower lid.

Flicked Line

1. Draw a thick line across the edge of your eyelid using short strokes and stopping at the edge of your lid.

2. Extend the liner and flick the end up at a 25-degree angle, then fill in.

Dramatic Line

1. Draw a thicker line across your upper lash line, stopping at the edge of your lid.

2. Extend the liner and flick up as you would for a flicked line. Draw a line from the edge of your winged liner and connect it with the line you just traced along your lash line. Then, just fill in the space for a bold, dramatic winged liner look!

Supplies

A base coat

5 neutral nail polishes with the same sheen. We used:

• essie Adore-A-Ball
• essie Sandy Beach
• essie Topless & Barefoot
• essie Sand Tropez
• essie Jazz

Directions 

1. Choose your array of colors. This is by far the most difficult part. The trick will be finding five polishes in the same sheen. It won’t look quite right if some of the polishes are creamy and some have a shimmer. Line them up in order and look to make sure it’s a gradual transition from light to dark

2. Paint your nails. Start with a base coat like essie First Base Base Coat, and let it dry well. Then paint each nail in the order you’ve selected. We chose to start with the lightest color on the thumb, but you can go from light to dark or dark to light. Either way will look great.

Ruffian Manicure

1. Choose a base color. Apply 1-2 coats of the nail color of your choice. We used essie Under the Twilight.
2. Apply the second color. Instead of going all the way to the base of the nail, start applying this color three-quarters of the way down. Sweep the color up, but don’t extend it out all the way to each side. You should be able to see the base color all around. It’s best to do this step in one coat so choose an opaque cream lacquer, like this Lancôme Vernis in Love in Ultramarine Green.
3. Finish with top coat. Allow the polish to dry before applying top coat to avoid smudging the colors. We love the high shine of the Seche Vite Top Coat we used here.

Single Dot Manicure

1. Apply a base color. Apply two coats of any opaque cream polish. We used Lancôme Vernis in Love in Violette Coquette.
2. Make the dot. Grab a dotting tool or one end of a bobby pin and dip it into a small amount of polish. With a steady hand, carefully press the tool down at the base of the nail. Make contact with the nail just once and then lift the tool directly up from that spot. We chose to make our dot metallic with essie Blue Rhapsody.
3. Finish with top coat. A quick swipe of clear polish will really make your single dot manicure shine.

Confetti Cake Manicure

1. Paint a light base color. You can get away with one coat because you’re going to be layering polishes. We used Lancôme Vernis in Love in Simply Aqua.
2. Apply glitter polish. Go over the application until you’re satisfied with the amount of glitter on the nail. We used essie Luxeffects in Jazzy Jubilant.
3. Top it off with a jelly coat. Allow the glitter coat to dry, and then finish the sandwich with 1-2 coats of a super sheer jelly polish. We used two coats of OPI Nail Lacquer in Funny Bunny.

Colored French Tip Manicure

1. Paint the base. A traditional French manicure is done in neutrals, but bold colors give it a modern feel. We used Lancôme Vernis in Love in Plunge Pool.
2. Coat the tip. Use the side of the brush to carefully swipe the color across the tip of the nail. You only need a small amount of lacquer on the brush. Choose a contrasting color, like this essie Tart Deco.
3. Apply top coat. Allow the polish then apply top coat to smooth the two coats of color and seal the look.

Straight Hair

This pretty side bun adds a little bit of whimsy without a lot of effort. The same probably can’t be said for your fancy centerpieces. Once you’ve practiced a few times, you’ll have this ’do down. You won’t need anyone else to help, and you’ll look amazing. Regardless of how many glasses of champagne Aunt Jane threw at Cousin Bob while dancing to Pandora in the rain.

1. Start with a side part. Then section off your hair at the base of your crown and hold it upward, sprinkling texturizing powder, like L’Oréal Professionnel True Grip Texturizing Powder, at the roots.

2. Pull the hair around to the side opposite your part, smooth it out with a paddle brush and secure on the side of the nape of your neck with a clear elastic.

3. Divide your ponytail into three strands and braid loosely. Pinch the end tightly with one hand while spraying hairspray to the tips with the other.

4. Without letting go of the end of the braid, wind it loosely around the elastic. You may need to use one hand to support the weight of the bun and hold it in place. Tuck the end of the braid into the bun and secure with bobby pins.

5. Tuck in any loose pieces and spray with a strong hairspray such as Enjoy Professional Hair Care Super Hold Hair Spray.

1. ELIGIBILITY: The Makeup.com “Hair Chalk Giveaway” (the “Sweepstakes”) is open to legal residents of the fifty United States and the District of Columbia, who are at least eighteen (18) years of age as of the date of their entry. Employees of Makeup.com (“Sponsor”), VaynerMedia, Inc., their parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies (collectively, the “Promotion Parties”), and the immediate family defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, or persons living in the same household of each are not eligible. This Sweepstakes is void where restricted or prohibited, and is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.

TO ENTER: The Sweepstakes will begin at 5:00 AM Pacific Time (“PT”) on March 12, 2014 and end at 5:00 PM Pacific Time (“PT”) on March 18, 2014 (“Sweepstakes Period”).  Internet access is required to enter and you must have a registered account on makeup.com. Registration on the Website is free. During the Promotion Period, you must: (1) Visit Makeup.com (the “Website”) and click the Login/Register button and follow the directions to login (if you haven’t already) or register.  (2) Once logged in, click on the “Giveaways” tab in the navigation bar and then click on the “L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk Giveaway + Quiz” post. (3) On the Hair Chalk giveaway post page, registered users must take the hair chalk quiz and must leave a comment in the comment box that states which hair chalk color best represents them from the quiz.  The comment box is located at the bottom of the page and is titled “Join The Conversation”. (4) Once you have entered a comment, click the “Post Comment” button located to the bottom right of the comment box to submit your entry. Once the comment has been submitted, entrant will earn one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. All entries must be received by March 18, 2014 at 5:00 PM PT to be eligible. Limit one (1) entry per person, per email address for the duration of the Sweepstakes Period. Entries received from any person or email address in excess of the above-stated limitation will be void. Entries generated by script, macro or mechanical means and entries made by any means that subvert the entry process are void. In the event of a dispute over the identity of an entrant, entry will be deemed submitted by the authorized account holder of the email used to enter the Sweepstakes. “Authorized account holder” is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational institution, etc.) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the email address.

You may be asked to consent to receive promotional e-mails and reminder e-mails from Makeup.com. Consenting to receive promotional or reminder e-mails is optional and does not have to be agreed upon in order to be eligible to participate in the Sweepstakes and does not improve your chances of winning.

3. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: Entries must comply with these Official Rules and must not defame or libel Sponsor or any third party. Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules or that otherwise contain prohibited or inappropriate content, as determined by the Sponsor in its sole discretion, will be disqualified and will not be eligible for the prize.  Sponsor further reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to edit any entry. Sponsor makes the final determination as to which entries are eligible to take part in this Sweepstakes, and Sponsor’s decisions shall be binding.  Entries must be in English. All Entries must be the sole, original work of the entrant. Any Entry or portion thereof that is, in the Sponsor’s sole discretion, obscene, profane, lewd, sarcastic, offensive or defamatory, includes any trademarks, logos or brands (other than the brand names used in the quiz), violates the proprietary right of any person living or deceased (including but not limited to rights of privacy or publicity or portrayal in a false light) or entity, is otherwise objectionable, or in any way is incomplete, indecipherable, or otherwise not in full compliance with these Official Rules, will be disqualified.  Content that includes phrases, trademarked material, logos or other third party materials may be disqualified in Sponsor’s sole discretion. Entrants and winner acknowledge and agree that their entries become the property of the Sponsor. By entering, you agree to waive any rights you may have to the entry submitted. Sponsor makes the final determination as to which entries are eligible to be included in this Sweepstakes, and Sponsor’s decisions shall be binding.

4. SELECTION OF WINNER: One (1) winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period on or about March 18, 2014.  The winner will be contacted via email at the submitted email address and asked to submit his or her mailing address and phone number. Winner may be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release (collectively, “Release”) within seven (7) calendar days of prize notification. If the winner is considered a minor in his/her jurisdiction of residence, Release must be signed by his/her parent or legal guardian and such prize will be delivered to minor’s parent/legal guardian and awarded in the name of parent/legal guardian.  If the winner cannot be contacted within five (5) calendar days of first notification attempt, if prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if the winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. Odds of winning are dependent upon the number of eligible entries received during the Sweepstakes Period.

6. PRIZE DESCRIPTION & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUE (“ARV”): One (1) Prize will be awarded consisting of:  One (1) L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in First Date Violet (“ARV”: $24); L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Garden Party (ARV: $24); (1) L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Sweet Sixteen Pink (ARV: $24); (1) L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Blue Ocean Cruise (ARV: $24);  (1) L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Coral Sunset (ARV: $24); L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Bronze Beach (ARV: $24); L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Coffee Break ($24); L’Oréal Professionnel Hair Chalk in Black Tie ($24); Total ARV of the Prize: $192.00. No substitution or transfer of the Prize is permitted by the winner.  Sponsor reserves the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value in the event that the prize (or a portion of the prize) is unavailable in its sole discretion.  The Prize winner will be solely responsible for all taxes, if any, and any expenses not specified related to acceptance and/or use of his/her Prize. All unspecified expenses are the responsibility of winner. In the event the winner is featured on a website or in any publication or advertising, no additional compensation beyond the Prize will be awarded.

7. SPONSOR’S RIGHTS IN SUBMITTED MATERIALS:  By entering the Sweepstakes and submitting information, your entry and/or other materials (“Submitted Materials”), you grant Promotion Parties the irrevocable and perpetual nonexclusive right to use your name and biographical information and entry and to display, print, publish, reproduce, distribute, modify, create derivative works from, promote and provide access to any such Submitted Materials, in any media throughout the world, and without additional consideration.  All Submitted Materials must not infringe third-party rights and must be suitable for publication (e.g., may not be obscene or indecent).  Sponsor may modify or edit Submitted Materials in its sole discretion.  By entering the Sweepstakes, you consent to the use by the Promotion Parties of your name, Submitted Materials, and biographical information for marketing purposes without further compensation or right of approval, unless prohibited by law.

8. RELEASE OF LIABILITY: By participating, you release the Promotion Parties, their respective partners, employees, directors, and agents, including advertising and promotion agencies (“Released Entities”), from and against any and all injury, loss, or damage caused or claimed to be caused by, or arising out of, your participation in the Sweepstakes and/or the acceptance, awarding, receipt, use, and/or misuse of the Prize, and you agree that the Released Entities are not responsible for any warranty, representation, or guarantee, expressed or implied, in fact or in law, relating to the Sweepstakes and/or the awarding of the Prize, except as expressly set forth in these Official Rules.  Notwithstanding the foregoing, in the event that the preceding release is determined by a court of competent jurisdiction to be invalid or void for any reason, Sweepstakes entrant agrees that, by entering the Sweepstakes: (i) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or in connection with the Sweepstakes, or the prize awarded, shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; (ii) any claims, judgments, and/or awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Sweepstakes, but in no event attorney’s fees; and (iii) under no circumstances will any entrant be permitted to obtain any award for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental, or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than damages for actual out-of-pocket expenses.  By entering, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Released Entities against any and all third-party claims, damages, liabilities, costs, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees and expenses, arising out of or related to any breach by you of any provision of these Official Rules, including, without limitation, your representations and warranties made herein.

9.  GENERAL CONDITIONS: Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, inaccurate, stolen, misdirected, undelivered, garbled, illegible or postage-due mail, entries or email; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the sweepstakes, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the sweepstakes, the processing of entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any sweepstakes-related materials.  Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by site users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the sweepstakes.  Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to participants’ or to any other person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in this sweepstakes or downloading materials from or use of the website.  Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the sweepstakes or website or who are in violation of these Official Rules, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified and all associated entries will be void.  Should any portion of the sweepstakes be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of entries, Sponsor reserves the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the sweepstakes and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winners from all eligible, non-suspect entries received prior to action taken or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute regarding entries received from multiple users having the same e-mail account, the authorized subscriber of the e-mail account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these Official Rules.  Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the e-mail address by the Internet Service Provider (ISP), on-line service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning e-mail addresses. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE SWEEPSTAKES IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR WILL DISQUALIFY ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL AND RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) AND OTHER REMEDIES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

10.  ARBITRATION: Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Promotion, participant agrees that (1) any and all disputes and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Promotion, or any prizes awarded, shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by final and binding arbitration under the rules of the American Arbitration Association and held at the AAA regional office nearest the participant; (2) the Federal Arbitration Act shall govern the interpretation, enforcement and all proceedings at such arbitration; and (3) judgment upon such arbitration award may be entered in any court having jurisdiction. Under no circumstances will participant be permitted to obtain awards for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages, or any other damages, including attorneys’ fees, other than participant’s actual out-of-pocket expenses (i.e., costs associated with participating in this Promotion), and participant further waives all rights to have damages multiplied or increased.

Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at www.makeup.com.  By participating in the Sweepstakes, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.
