Football Beauty: From Casual to Die-Hard Fan

Not all sports fans are created equal. There are the face-painting, jersey-wearing season-ticket holders. And there are those who were begrudgingly dragged to the sports bar with the promise of the world’s most spectacular hot wings. Wherever you may fall on the fandom spectrum, you still want to pay homage to your home team. And we here at Makeup.com are convinced there’s no better way to do this than with your makeup. Follow along as we show you how to hit a home run (or, ahem, a touchdown?) by incorporating your favorite team colors into your beauty look.

Red and Gold

For the Casual Fan.
If your ideal Sunday doesnt exactly include football, then you probably don’t have a 49ers jersey to cheer in. But if your team’s colors are red and gold, you can still cheer them on by rocking a glossy red balm, like NYX Butter Lip Balm in Red Velvet. For a fun mani to go along with the team colors, go matchy-matchy by painting every other nail red using essie in Aperitif and the rest in gold with essie in Good as Gold.

For the Sports Lover. Kick your warrior makeup up a notch by wearing beautiful glimmery gold on your eyes and pairing with a bright red pout. For your nails, try a simple two-toned nail art design like the modern half-moon mani in Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer in Gilded Rose and your favorite red like essie’s Jump in My Jumpsuit. We’re not done just yet! Use your own hair as a way to cheer on your team by coloring the ends with Redken Color Rebel in Red-Y to Rock. Don’t worry, it’s only temporary!

Red and Blue

For the Casual Fan.
There are plenty of subtle ways to wear this common team color combo. Wear a royal blue polish like essie in Mezmerized and rock some bold blue lids. Score a beauty field goal and complete your look with a matte red lip using Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro in The Red!

For the Sports Lover.
All you Texans, Giants and Patriots lovers can step up your sports bar beauty with a little eye black — MDC style! Swipe Maybelline ExpertWear Eye Shadow Quads in Electric Blue underneath your eyes to make you look like a part of the team and top off your winning look with a red ribbon weaved into your messy braid!

Green and White

For the Casual Fan.
Gear up for go time and score some extra points for the Michigan State Spartans with this college football friendly look! Put a little spin on a makeup classic and use Urban Decay 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Deep End for some green cat eye action. Seal your team’s fate with a glossy white kiss using YSL Golden Gloss in White Gold Quartz and be sure to reapply after a night of booing the opposing team!

For the Sports Lover.
Intensify your admiration by highlighting the inner corners of your eyes and cheekbones with NYX Roll On Eye Shimmer in Platinum — perfect as a body glitter too if you’d like to feel like the head cheerleader! Look like a true Packers fan by layering your lashes with YSL Volume Effet Faux Cils Mascara in Green Emerald and using Maybelline Color Show Nail Lacquer PolkaDots Collection in Drops of Jade for some team color nail art! Run the last yard to achieving a die-hard fan look by dip-dying strands in a vibrant wash of — you guessed it — green color!
