Every makeup veteran is familiar with winged eyeliner. Some of us have even mastered the art of creating a razor-sharp cat eye flick in the most inconvenient of situations—the rearview mirror in the middle of rush hour traffic and sandwiched between commuters on the subway come to mind. But now is not the time to rest on your laurels. Over the next few weeks, we're going to unveil three new ways to wear graphic eyeliner in a series called The Eyeliner Files.
To kick of the series, pro makeup artist Diana Alba shows us how to create a new take on the cat eye that is all-too-easy considering how chic the outcome—it’s literally a two-step process. Get ready to master the mod, dotted cat eye that will have heads turning everywhere you go!
Step 1. Using a liquid or cream-based eyeliner, apply a thick, bold cat eye along the upper lash line.
Step 2. Using a felt-tipped eyeliner or graphic eyeliner marker, paint four, evenly spaced dots along the lower lash line.
