Think Fast: How to Cover Up a Post-Memorial Day Hangover

cover up a hangover
A sun-kissed glow, blissed-out mood… and one regret-tinged headache: welcome to the day after Memorial Day.
If you indulged in late night celebrations, or stood within 10 feet of a Jello shot, you know that a great holiday weekend sometimes results in a less than joyous Tuesday morning. Here’s how to cover up that Memorial Day hangover in a matter of minutes.
De-Puff
The combination of alcohol and lack of sleep often leads to a puffy-eyed look. To deflate your bags, try an old-school tip and place a cool cucumber slice or chilled tea bag on each lid for 10 to 15 minutes. Both will soothe eyes while hydrating skin.
However, if you’re pressed for time, try our eye cream tip or our other secret weapon, Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Puff Eye Roller.
Moisturize
Alcohol dehydrates skin so morning-after moisturizing is key. Slather on a nourishing cream such as Yves Saint Laurent Temps Majeur Ultra Rich Creme or Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream. Don’t forget your lips need love too, so be generous with a hydrating balm to quench your dehydrated skin.
Line
If your eyes aren’t feeling their brightest, line your waterline with nude liner to diminish the appearance of redness and make you look more awake.  We like Illamasqua Medium Pencil in Hex and Tarte EmphasEYES Inner Rim Brightener.
Color
Chances are your skin isn’t exactly glowing after a celebration-filled weekend, so brightening dull complexion is a must. Avoid heavy powders—instead go for a fresh and flirty pink cheek. L’Oréal Visible Lift® Color Lift Blush and Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush are two of our current favorites.
Shampoo
If your locks are limp, greasy, or generally defeated, dry shampoo is an instant fix. We suggest Redken Powder Refresh 101, or Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo Spray.
