Leaving the office for an after-work event with no time to go home between desk and dinner? Not to worry. With a simple strategy we like to call “baubles, brights and braids,” you can transition from day to night in a matter of minutes. The secret is in how you accessorize your look. With the help from professional beauty genius Elyse Reneau, we’ll show how the right piece of statement jewelry, a quick hair change and the addition of a bright lip can turn your basic beauty look into something stunning.
how to switch up your look

Chunky Strand Necklace + Big Braid + Hot Pink Lip

A messy, undone braid is the perfect complement to a stunning sparkler around the neck. Just gather your hair into a low side pony (it’s OK if a few pieces fall out — it’s supposed to look a little unkempt), braid about halfway down the length of the pony, and then gently pull the loops to stretch the braid. Complete the look with a pop of bright pink on the lips. We chose L’Oréal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in Fuchsia Orchestra.

Drop Earrings + Ballerina Bun + Punchy Coral Lip

An eye-catching pair of drop earrings is a surefire way to take any look from day to night, especially when paired with the right hair and makeup. A standout set of earrings needs to be shown off, so pull hair up in a ballerina bun. Simply twist your tresses into a bun on the top of your head and pin in place with a few bobby pins. For the finishing touch, add a glossy coral lip like L’Oréal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in Rose Melody.

Statement Bib Necklace + Pulled Back Braids + Bright Orange Lip

A beautiful bib necklace looks effortlessly chic peeking out from under a cascade of loose waves. All you really need is a statement-making lip color to take it to the next level. To add a little bit more of a style to your hair, braid a small section on each side and secure them in the back of your head. Then just swipe on L’Oréal Extraordinaire by Colour Riche in Orange Tempo and you’ll be ready to hit the town.
