Tuesday Tutorial: The Inner Corner Pop of Color

Though brightly painted eyelids certainly have their time and place, sometimes subtlety is the best way to go. If you’re craving a fun spin on your everyday eye shadow, try using a bold color on the inner corners of your eyelids. It’ll make your eyes pop without making too much of a statement. Here makeup pro Emma Willis of Contour Fossa shows us how it’s done.

Step 1: Use a fluffy eye shadow blender brush to work a dark brown shadow into the crease of the eyelid, pulling it down toward the lash line.

Product Pick: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow in Improper Copper

Step 2: Line upper and lower lash lines and the waterline with a black waterproof eyeliner.

Product Pick: L’Oréal Silkissime Eyeliner in Black

Step 3: Pat colored shadow along the eyelid, starting in the inner corner and moving upward toward the crease. Use a fluffy eye shadow brush to blend the color seamlessly into the brown shadow.

Product Pick: Maybelline Eye Studio Color Tattoo Pure Pigments Loose Powder Shadow in Potent Purple

MDC Tip: Be sure to choose a blush and lip color that complements the shade you used in your inner corner.
