The bod range which includes face, body, bath, essential oil blends and soaps is designed to be pure and effective. drawing upon the true wisdom of nature, our products utilise the beneficial qualities of pure plant extracts and essential oils. using aromatherapy, naturopathic and homoeopathic principles, we combine the most beneficial ingredients in balanced and effective proportions. naturally, the range is free from artificial scents, fragrant oil, petrochemicals, animal products, artificial preservatives, sls, sulphates and parabens. at bod we strive to heal not harm. that's why we are against animal testing and have environmental awareness. where possible we source certified organic and australian grown ingredients.

The packaging
Bod's packaging incorporates symbolic meaning. true to the bod belief that product integrity should be placed above all else and keeping with the tradition of naturopaths, doctors, chemists and alchemists, bod products are preserved and packaged in amber or ?dark coloured' bottles. the darkened bottle acts to shield the products from depletion and damage caused by the elements (light, heat and air) therefore greatly enhancing their longevity, potency and effectiveness. bod's stylish and minimal packaging incorporates symbolic meaning. every product has the bod symbol ?kawa' meaning flow or river in japanese.

Q&A's

Does bod use fragrant oil?
All scents in bod product's are derived from pure essential oils (grade a and/or b) not fragrant oils or artificial scents.

What is the base of bod products?
bod and bod for bubs products can be broken-down into three areas; water based products, oil based products and cream based products.

Water based products - the base is water and herbal extracts
Oil based products - the base is various types of carrier oils eg; jojoba, safflower etc.
Cream base products - 40 - 60% water and oil using natural emulsifiers creating a cream consistency.

Does bod use a preservative in its products?
The majority of bod and bod for bubs products are preservative free.
The only preservatives that we use are hydroxy-methyl-glycinate and potassium sorbate, which can be found in some of our cream based products.

There is no natural preservative known to date that ensures the integrity of the product is maintained and will not allow traces of bacteria and microbial growth to occur and contaminate the product.

Trapeseed oil, manuka honey, tee tree oil are NOT preservatives they are antioxidants which prevent oxidation but do not prevent bacteria colonization.

What is the ph balance of bubs products?
The ph of our water based bubs products is between 5.5 and 6; skin ph is normally 5.5 and neutral ph is 7 so we have formulated to be in between.

What is a surfactant?
An agent that cleanses and conditions the skin. we use low irritant vegetable based surfactants such as cocomido propyl betane.

What is an emollient?
Helps combine water with oil; softens tissue and mucous membranes.

What is an emulsifier?
A vegetable derived agent that disperses liquid into another liquid; it absorbs moisture from the air and helps keep moisture in creams.

What is the shelf life of bod product?
On the label of each product you will find a open jar logo with a number, this indicates the shelf life in months after the product has been opened.

Why does bod use amber packaging?
The darkened bottle/jar acts to shield the product from depletion and damage caused by the elements (light, heat and air), therefore greatly enhancing longevity potency and effectiveness.

Is bod's packaging recyclable?
All the bod bottles and jars are recyclable. we use glass and pet plastic as it is the most environmentally friendly. so please dispose of thoughtfully
