The Ultimate Mani Inspired By the Pantone 2016 Colors of the Year
Here at Makeup.com, we're always on the lookout for top-of-the-line beauty gurus to share advice on hair, makeup and nails. Today, we are thrilled to have celeb nail artist Kait Mosh show us how to get an ombré mani, using shades inspired by the Pantone 2016 Colors of the Year! Take it away Kait!
Step 1: Start with clean, manicured nails that have been wiped clean with acetone or alcohol. Paint on your base coat.
Step 2: Paint on one or two coats of your soft pink polish. All a few minutes to dry.
Step 3: Mix six or seven drops of clear polish with one drop of your blue polish. This will be your color for the first layer of the ombré.
Step 4: Paint the mixture on ¾ of the nail, leaving the ¼ of the nail (near the cuticle) untouched. Add another drop of blue and another drop of clear polish to intensify the color. Paint mix on the top half of the nail. Add one drop of each polish one more time, mix and apply to the top ¼ of the nail. Allow a few minutes to dry.
Step 5: Paint on a coat of top coat and apply a little cuticle oil and you’re good to go.
