Known for his flair for making up women of all ethnicities, Tarek Abbas has painted the faces of cinematic legends such as Juliette Binoche and supermodels Arlenis Sosa and Elettra Wiedemann. The makeup artist of nearly 20 years also regularly works backstage during New York Fashion Week helping create makeup looks for indie designers such as Chris Benz and Tracy Reese.
Abbas believes makeup should accentuate a woman’s greatest asset–her natural allure. “Makeup should never overpower a woman’s beauty. It should act like a beautiful frame around a gorgeous picture. You notice the frame, but the true focus is on the picture.”
When Abbas isn’t wielding a makeup brush, you’ll most likely find him traveling; he credits his extensive global trotting with inspiring his beauty creations.
