Nail Files: How to do an Ombre Manicure
Ombre is here to stay, and we couldn’t be happier. If you’ve been crushing on all things color fading for as long as we have, it’s about time for your nails to join in on the fun. Get yourself a gorgeous gradient manicure with our latest edition of Nail Files…
- 3 colors of nail polish
- top coat
- makeup sponge
- pointed q-tips
- nail polish remover
- Paint nails with your lightest color, and allow to dry. We used Lancôme Vernis in Love in Simply Aqua for our base.
- Paint a generous stripe of each color, from lightest to darkest, across the end of the sponge. The sponge will soak up some of the polish so you have to add a second layer. After our base color, we used essie avenue maintain, followed by Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Nail Lacquer in Rx.
- Press the sponge firmly again your nail. Color will get on your fingers, but we’ll clean that up later. Repeat on each nail twice.
- Take a remover-soaked cotton swab (or small paint brush) and clean up the edges of each nail. Finish with a swipe of top coat, and get ready to be a source of major manicure envy!
