Notes on a Cocktail Napkin from Nailtini celebrity manicurist Elsbeth:
My clients adore Nailtini colors both "straight up" and "cocktailed" into custom manicures or pedicures, and as a nail artist, the colors truly inspire me. Technically,
this line is a joy to work with because the colors have a built-in base coat for maximum adhesion and smooth application.
The trend in nails is again headed toward elegant, deep, dark shades. With that in mind, here are some of my favorite Nailtini products, tips and tricks:
For darker colors such as Espresso, Port or inky blue Navy Grog, new for fall, we do suggest using pale Frappe or Frothe as a base to eliminate discoloration of
the nail bed. This will make your colors go on as smooth as warm butter and will give perfect coverage with one coat only.
When using dark polishes be especially careful not to touch any of the skin surrounding the nail plate. Dark polishes will penetrate the skin and can be hard to
remove. Leave at least 1/8 of an inch on cuticle area and the side of the nail when applying such shades.
A bottle of clear glossy Vodka Topper should be in every woman's possession to be used as a finishing touch over every shade on our nail bar. Vodka is a
fast-drying high gloss topcoat designed to keep polish perfect for days without chipping. Vodka leaves nails shiny and fresh as glacier water kissed by the sun.
Wear your sunglasses!
What goes on eventually must come off. Removing dark shades can be tricky. It is best to press a remover-soaked cotton square onto the nail plate. Press down
for 5 seconds then press and pull in one direction out towards free edge (tip of the finger). Repeat if necessary. Never remove dark polish using a circular motion.
Keep nails pristine with Club Soda Fizz, a unique Nail Whitening Soak that can be used to remove stains caused by tanning sprays, dark polishes, etc. It brightens,
whitens and transforms nails into a clean canvas just begging to be painted. This is a great way to start over after wearing dark colors, or to prep for a French or
pale colored manicure. Just pour two capfuls of the lime-scented powder into a bowl of water (more in a tub for toes) and fizz away stains and discolorations.
Use the smoothest side of your file to buff away tough stains then condition nail plate with Hot Buttered Rum Hand & Foot Cream. Massage a tiny amount of
cream into each nail plate/bed.
