Q. I have very oily skin and foundations and eye shadows just seem to slide right off. What can I do?
A. First, try applying a base/primer before your foundation. One that is silicon-free is good for oily skin (Lola Refine Prime Foundation Primer). Next, select a mineral-oil-free foundation that will not clog your pores and will last all day (like Alison Raffaele Reality Base Foundation) or for sheer coverage, a mineral powder foundation that will absorb excess oil throughout the day (try Avanya Mineral Foundation).

Q. I have a lot of blackheads and nothing seems to remove them. What can I use?
A. I would recommend you Try Suki's Exfoliating Lemongrass Cleanser as a daily cleanser. It will help remove and prevent blackhead. You should also be using a Peel as well as a deep cleansing mask once a week. I would alternate the using the Peel one week and the Deep Cleansing Mask the next week. Try Actifirm 15% Z-Peel Plus and Murad Clarifying Mask (for problem skin).

Q. I have freckles on my face and I hate them! Is there anything I can do to cover them up?
A. You may never be able to fully conceal all of your freckles but with my recommendations you may be able to hide a great deal of them and still appear that you are not wearing much makeup at all. Begin with a foundation primer. This will help grab and keep your makeup in place all day. Next apply a concealer to the freckled area. Normally I would recommend that you apply concealer after your foundation but we want to start with base cover. After you have applied your foundation go over and touch up any extra freckles that may need a little extra coverage. Once you are satisfied apply a loose powder to set your foundation in place.

Q. I have open pores on my face. What should I do to remove them?
A. Large pores are a result over overactive oil glands. Your pores get clogged and stretched and therefore appear larger. What you need to do is wash your face once in the morning and once in the evening with a cleanser that will exfoliate as well. I would recommend: Suki's Exfoliating Lemongrass Cleanser. To help unclog your pores I would use the following as a once/twice a week treatment: Sampar Equalizing Foam Peel. For a daily moisturizer I would recommend that you try a light day moisturizer, depending on how oily your skin is. The following is very popular. Sampar Barely There Moisture Fluid.

Q. I have very sensitive skin and most cosmetics make my face & eyes itch. And recommendations?
A. Mineral makeup seems to work the best with sensitive skin. There is a New brand Called Avanya. It is the next generation in mineral makeup. Very good quality! I think it would be great for you. Below is a link to take you directly to you product page. http://www.makeup.com/brands/avanya/

Q. Is there a daily face cleanser that removes waterproof mascara?
A. I would recommend you use a makeup remover and a cleanser for waterproof mascara. It is just cleaner and safer. However if you want a product with the capability to do both then you need to look for an oil based cleanser. Below are some links to makeup removers and cleansers. As far as an oil based cleanser I believe a brand called Shu Uemura. Lola Cosmetics - Makeup remover, Bobbi Brown - Makeup remover, Actifirm - Morning cleanser.

Q. Is it better to shave your eyebrows or wax them?
A. It is much better to wax your eyebrows. NEVER shave them! Shaving will only cause them to grow back thicker and thicker. There is another technique available called threading. Traditionally threading is done in countries like India and the Middle East. It is becoming more and more popular in North America and a lot of salons and spas are offering this service. Check around your local area for places advertising this service. Chances are it is cheaper than waxing and more precise and detailed.

Q. Does cover-up really clog up your pores?
A. Some can, depending on its quality, but on the most part, if you cleanse your face regularly this shouldn't be a problem. I would also suggest that you try using a Mineral Foundation. Mineral Foundations are made with natural ingredients and will not clog pores. I would recommend Avanya Mineral Foundation because it has a great soft texture, provided excellent coverage and come is very nice natural looking tones. It can be worn wet or dry depending on the desired coverage wanted for that day. Below is a link to the complete Avanya line. http://www.makeup.com/brands/avanya/

Q. When I put on perfume in the morning it doesn't last all day. How can I make the scent last longer?
A. Try layering the perfume. If you buy a set it will usually come with the body cream as well. Apply the body cream then the perfume. Also remember that you may not be able to smell the perfume because your nose has gotten used to it but that others still can.

Q. What product do you recommend for combination (acne prone) skin that diminishes blemishes and age spots?
A. For combination/acne prone skin, try: Juice Beauty Cleansing Gel. You can also use Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Serum to spot treat or all over the face. And to lighten and brighten up your complexion, we recommend Suki Complexion Brightening Cream.

Q. I think I am allergic to my makeup. Is there a product for sensitive skin?
A. For sensitive skin I would recommend you use mineral makeup. There is a very good line out there right now. It is called Avanya and it is the next generation in mineral makeup. It provides great coverage with a very natural look and feel. It is free of irritants like dyes, perfumes, talc and preservatives. It was designed for women with sensitive skin. Here is a link for Avanya Cosmetics at Makeup.com.

Q. What can I do if I have lots of pimples on my face? I've tried most things and they never work!
A. There are many reasons why people get blemishes. Hereditary, stress, diet and incorrect products used can all contribute to breakouts. Simple steps to take are drinking plenty of clean water and eating a diet consisting of largely fresh fruits and vegetables. If you avoid using heavily perfumed skincare and makeup, you will also see a huge improvement in your skin. I will recommend a very clean skincare and make-up line for you to consider.
