Q. My hair is colored and is becoming rough and dry. What can I do?
A. I would recommend that you try using a moisturizing Shampoo and conditioner and even using a moisture hair mask once a week. I have found the following product to work very well on dry colored hair. Try Stephen Knoll Deep Moisture Shampoo, Deep Moisture Conditioner for daily shampooing, then apply Stephen Knoll Hydro-Repair Styling Mist which is good for everyday, especially before blow drying and or styling. Once a week, use the Stephen Knoll Deep Moisture Hair Mask for extra deep conditioning.
Q. I just got my haircut and I now have bangs. My hair is really thin and it gets greasy really fast. I can't go more then like a day without my hair looking really gross. I try not to play with my bangs, and I always put them in clips when I do my makeup and things. I really like the look of keeping them down. I don't use a lot of conditioner or shampoo either. Do you have any ideas of how i can not have oily hair without having to buy expensive products?
A. Bangs are totally cute but I agree, you must make sure you hair are kept clean at all time so that you wont get blemishes from hair touching your forehead. Most shampoos contain Sodium Laureth Sulfate (detergent) and it is the primary agent responsible for creating foam/bubble in our cleansing products. When used on a regular basis, Sodium Laureth Sulfate strips the natural oil barrier from your scalp/skin. In response to that, your scalp will then naturally produces more oil to compensate the missing natural oil. Excess oil is responsible for making your hair feel greasy and limp. To prevent this problem, I highly advise reading the ingredient list on your current shampoo and if it contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate I would stop using it. There are many shampoos out there that would gently cleanse your hair without stripping the natural oil of off your scalp. Below are some of my recommendations: John Masters Organic Lavender Rosemary Shampoo 8 oz. $16.00 , or Hamadi Ginger Soy Shampoo 4 oz $19.00 Good luck and enjoy your new haircut!
Q. How can I soften my hair naturally? My hair is so hard & thick.
A. Have you ever use a hair mask/treatment before? Hair mask usually comes in a thick creamy texture and it is extremely nourishing to your hair. When applied frequently, you would see results quite quickly. Hair mask also helps repair and leave your hair with shine and improved texture. Definitely a must for dry, thick or chemically-treated hair! Our best sellers are: Stephen Knoll Deep Treatment Hair Mask $42.50 Hamadi Shea Hair Mask $26.00 Good luck!
Q. I want to know some tips that I can use for damaged, frizzy unmanageable curly hair. I'm tired of putting my hair in pony tails!
A. There is a line of hair product by Stephen Knoll that works wonders on dry, frizzy hair. I have provided a link for you. Try their Deep Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner daily, and use the Deep Moisture Hair Mask once a week. ***Tip** Before and after you dry your hair put in a little of the Stephen Knoll Super Smoothing Lotion. It is amazing.
