Ready-to-Wear (to Work) Runway Hair
Spotted at Fashion Week: A super chic, 70’s inspired ponytail backstage at Charlotte Ronson. Inspired by the designer’s glam-edgy collection, lead Tresemmé Stylist, Jeanie Syfu, created a sophisticated ponytail to compliment the mixture of textures Ronson sent down the runway. The sleek updo made a statement all its own…Ladies, ponytails aren’t just for the gym anymore! Here’s how to take yours up a notch and make it perfect for the office.
Step 1: Prep freshly washed, still-damp hair with a leave-in conditioning treatment to help smooth out your blow dry.
Step 2: Using a flat brush, blow dry your hair straight back from your forehead. “This directional drying will help with fly-aways and ensure a good grip when fastening with an elastic,” says Syfu.
Step 3: Strategically pull out some wispy pieces to frame the face.
Step 4: Apply a dollop of gel like Tresemmé TRES Ultra Firm Control Gel or Garnier Fructis Style Pure Clean Gel to the front of your hairline, leaving the wispy pieces out.
Step 5: Comb back all of your hair flat against your head and gather it into a ponytail, securing it with a band that matches your hair color just above the nape of the neck. “The sleek finish and placement of this particular pony has more of a strong, sophisticated look,” says Syfu.
Step 6: Flat iron your ponytail to reduce fly-aways.
Step 7: Finish by spritzing a light finishing spray over the top. We like L’Oreal Paris Elnett Satin Hairspray.
