Snapped: Fashion Week’s Prettiest, Picture-Perfect Makeup Looks
Looking stunning on film is just another day at the office for runway models. But among us mere mortals, saying cheese is hardly enough to ensure a photo worth sharing…much less tagging and posting. Thankfully, Fashion Week was full of beauty trends designed to make all of us feel like we should be getting paid thousands for every click of the camera. Here are the three hottest ways to be photogenic in a flash.
The look: Modern chic–healthy, fresh & effortless

“Use your fingers to work a lightweight base into skin, applying like you would moisturizer to create the most natural effect,” says Maybelline New York Global Makeup Artist Charlotte Willer, who created the look. For a satin finish, dust on a bit of Maybelline Fit Me! Powder. Next, create an understated flush by blending a warm peachy bronze blush into the apples of the cheeks. Try Mally Beauty Perfecting Blush in Peach.
To recreate the graphic-inspired liner, use a liquid liner, like L’Oreal Lineur Intense Felt Tip Liquid Liner in Carbon Black. Extend two straight brush strokes across eyelid: the first drawn from the inner corner to the center of eye, and the second starting at the center to just beyond the outer corner of each eye.
Opt for a clean moisturized lip with a touch of natural pink color, like Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom.

After evening out skin tone with a lightweight foundation, contour the face by blending two shades of blush into the apples of the cheeks: one a true, warm pink and one in a bronzey peach. Try Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Fresh Pink and Coffee Cake. “The delicate touch of color creates structure and the look of a healthy flush,” says Willer.
Next, use short strokes to fill in brows with a brow pencil like Dior Powder Eyebrow Pencil. This is not a look for the overplucked, so allow your natural brows to grow in. Keep eyes clean and neutral with one coat of mascara.
Finish the classic, pretty look with a vibrant red lipstick applied with a lip brush for precision. Try YSL Rouge Volupte in Red Muse.

“For a sultry feline eye, draw a thick black line from the inner corner outward, smudging ever so slightly for a smoldering effect,” says Maybelline New York Global makeup artist Charlotte Tilbury, who created the look. Continue the deep black color into the crease for extra intensity. Finish the eyes, by creating masses of lashes. Curl clean lashes and apply a set of falsies like Makeup Forever Eyelash Strips . Then coat top and bottom lashes with thickening, volumizing mascara like Lancome Hypnose Doll Lashes Mascara.
Blend bronzer just under cheekbones to give an instant lift. Since eyes are so dramatic, keep lips neutral with a creamy beige like Maybelline Superstay 14HR Lipstick in Beige for Good.
