Real Beauty: An NYC Editor’s Spring Essentials
Question: What do you get when you cross a beauty and style editor with a change in season? Answer: Timely beauty advice! We caught up with Julee Wilson, Style & Beauty Editor at The Huffington Post BlackVoices to get the inside scoop on what she is loving this Spring.
Julee told us that in general she is loving anything in a poppy red or fuchsia for cosmetics this season. Her beauty look of choice? Bold and beautiful.
We asked her to share a few of her favorite products with the MDC community. This is what Julee had to say about what she is loving and rocking in her beauty routine this Spring:
1. Glowing skin. Healthy and glowing skin is a must, so the Geleé De Soleil by Carol’s Daughter is my warm weather standby. It bronzes, hydrates and protects with an SPF 15.
2. Bold lips. This spring I’m all about a pretty pout, which is why NARS’ satin lip pencil in “Yu” (a high-impact fuchsia) will always be within arm’s reach.
3. Bright tips! My nails need to be on point, too (pun intended), so I’ll be covering them in Essie’s poppy-hued hip-anema.
4. Lined eyes. I’m loving the Maybelline Eye Studio Master Duo 2-in-1 Glossy Liquid Liner. I appreciate that you can go from classy to sassy with just a twist of the wrist.
