Strobing Is the New Contouring

Watch out contouring. There’s a new makeup method in town and it’s looking to steal your thunder! Seriously, the latest craze in facial definition, strobing takes a very different approach than its contouring counterpart. Instead of summoning the powers of shadow and light, strobing calls for just light … and lots of it. Rather than shading and blending, strobing accentuates your facial features and lets your face really glow. This natural and bright look is perfect for the summer when you want to get a subtle, dewy shine going. So, for now, put down the contouring powder and get ready to master the latest makeup trend taking over the beauty world!

Strobing Contouring

Step 1: Prep your skin with a non-matte foundation that will give your skin a dewy finish and  help emphasize your glow. Try an illuminating formula like Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation. The same rule applies for concealer. Grab a shimmery concealer like Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer.

Step 2: Use a highlighting powder and dust it on the areas you want to define — cheekbones, brow bone, bridge of the nose and temples. Product Recommendations: Lancôme Blush Subtil Palette, NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Singles, The Body Shop Shimmer Waves
