How to Get All of Taylor Swift's Beauty Looks From Bad Blood
It’s safe to say if you have access to a TV, smart phone, tablet or computer, you saw (or at least heard about) the latest Taylor Swift video for the single “Bad Blood.” (If you haven’t yet seen it, take a quick time-out and watch it NOW.) The much-anticipated video has been the talk about town for weeks prior to its release, partly because of its robust cast of models and A-listers and partly because we just knew it was going to be fabulous. And, leave it to Miss Swift to never disappoint. The video portrays Swift as a thwarted fighter who seeks revenge by kicking butt and taking names alongside her army of avengers (played by the likes of Jessica Alba, Lily Aldridge, Ellie Goulding, Hayley Williams, Zendaya and Cara Delevingne, just to name a few).
While we were impressed by the quality and fierceness of the mini-film, as beauty-lovers, we were completely gaga over the looks worn by the entire cast, especially Swift. We were so obsessed with the singer’s “Bad Blood” beauty that we decided to dedicate an entire post to all 10 looks rocked throughout the four-minute video (yes, 10!). So, break out your black leather pants and stiletto boots and get ready to kick some bad-guy butt!
Look #1: Smoky Eye, Nude Lip, Messy Lob & Bangs
In our first introduction to Swift’s alter ego “Catastrophe,” we see her kicking bad-guy booty without disturbing her perfect lob and bang combo. You can replicate this sexy, mysterious look by rocking a chic and short cut along with a smoky eye and soft, nude lip.
As Swift shifts into the next chapter of her saga, she throws in the perfect wet-head look that we can’t get enough of. All you have to is exaggerate that smoky eye (from Look #1) by extending the charcoal eye shadow just past the crease, swipe on some clear nude gloss and slick back your mane.
In the next scene, Swift sticks to her sleek and smoldering theme with a smoky cat eye and chic chignon. Make sure to give your ’do a good once-over with strong-hold hairspray to make sure it won’t budge. Add some definition to the look by contouring your cheekbones and giving your face an extra chiseled look.
Swift also shows off a chic braided look as her story progresses. You can slay with pretty plaits by trying a side fishtail, four-strand or messy braid. To add a little edge to the look, give a nod to a childhood hairstyle by throwing in a topsy tail before you start braiding.
Taylor’s journey continues with a very cool (and on-trend!) side part. You too can enjoy life with a side part by trying it in multiple ways. It can be worn with loose, luscious waves or sleek and tight in one of the side braids mentioned above.
At one point in the video, T-Swift traded in her long and lovely braid for the messy lob (similar to the one seen in the beginning of the story). This time, however, her ’do has more of an unpolished feel, with textured and chunky pieces showing off her uneven layers and dimension.
Ponies were a major component in the Bad Blood video, worn among Swift’s team of beautiful fighters as well as Swift herself. For T-Swizzle, a low pony with a deep part was chosen to help her keep her hair out of her face while she sought revenge on her backstabbing bestie.
No Taylor Swift video would be complete without the singer’s signature red lip. While most of Swift’s time in the video is spent rocking a nude lip, she goes back to her red-lipped roots for the homestretch of Bad Blood. You too can work the classic cherry pout by picking out a color that works for you!
For the epic grand finale, Tay Tay sports a bright red lob and cat eye that sets the screen on fire. If you’re as inspired as us to go red, read the guide below on how to do it right. Everyone should be able to experience the fierceness of going red for themselves at some point in their lives!
