4 Facial Mists Tested by a Tired Beauty Editor

The life of a beauty editor isn’t always as glamorous and luxurious as you would think. Don’t get us wrong, playing with makeup all day is pretty fantastic, but, sometimes, even the most energetic gals can lose steam. And nothing gives you away like your face and skin. You know the drill: Your face gets dull, loses its natural luster and even starts to appear a bit droopy. We decided to see if we could fight the mid-week blues with a few facial mists that promise to revitalize and refresh even the most exhausted complexions. Check out what happened when senior editor, Angela Melero, tried some of these sprays herself!

Best Facial Mists

1. Kiehl's Refreshing Mist

“I heard this facial mist is designed to comfort dehydrated in-flight faces, but I decided to test it out on solid ground. I worked it into my end-of-day skincare routine, after I had washed my makeup off and before I slathered on my moisturizer. After just two spritzes I discovered why this spray is so great for an in-flight facial refresh. The mist was soothing and light and instantly hydrated up my taut, post-cleansed face. It was the perfect opening act for my nightly moisturizer and serum as it helped seal in the moisture.”

2. The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist

“As shameful as this is to admit, I have never been one to use a setting spray or powder. So, when I heard this mist was ideal for setting makeup, I made it my duty as a beauty editor to give it a whirl. The result? My skin felt refreshed (duh) and my makeup actually seemed to stay fresher, longer!”

3. La Roche-Posay Thermal Spring Water

“In this winter weather, my skin tends to get patchy and dry pretty easily. I usually have to slather moisturizer on my skin in the morning and at night, but during the day, I’m a lost cause. I kept this thermal spring water at my desk and used it pretty liberally when my skin started to feel parched. The light mist felt amazing on my face and gave it a much-needed boost of hydration!”

4. Shu Uemura Depsea Water Facial Mist-Chamomile

“I loved the scent of this spray, and replaced my daily moisturizer with it, as I figured the herb-packed formula would do a body good … and I was right! A light mist kept my face supple and smooth all day.”
