1. You asked: I have oily skin but I want to try a cream or gel blush. Any tips on how should I wear it?

Alison says:
Gel blushes, like my Inner Glow, are usually a better choice than cream blushes for oily skin, as they are water based and contain hardly any oils. Also, the liquid pigments gel blushes are made with (as opposed to powdered pigments), tend to stay color-true longer and are less likely to change color on oily skin. As for how to wear a gel blush, it may be worn either over foundation or on bare skin, and you may powder over it for a more matte finish or you my leave it as is for a dewier look. Personally, I like to concentrate the color on the apples of the cheeks and then blend downward and outwards with my fingertips or a foundation brush. If you have a blemish in the area where you want to apply blush ? don?t worry! Just go ahead and apply the blush where you want it and then using a small concealer brush, apply just a bit of concealer or foundation directly onto the blemish and then tap with a clean finder or sponge to blend. My True Concealer is Mineral Oil Free and my Reality Base is 100% Oil Free, making both suitable for covering blemishes.

2. You asked: I have horrible dark circles under my eyes. What would you suggest I use?

Alison says:
Dark circles are best covered with a yellow-based concealer that matches the color of your foundation, or if you do not wear foundation, your natural skin tone. Going a shade lighter "to correct" the darkness is a TOTAL myth, and will result in a grey or ashy look under the eyes. My True Concealer is perfect for concealing under the eyes, as all 7 shades are yellow-based, provide a high level of coverage, and are exceptionally easy to blend. They also are color coordinated to the foundations in my line, so if you are a Skin tone 2 in Reality Base foundation, then you would be a Skin tone 2 in True Concealer.

3. You asked: How do you keep foundation looking fresh all day?

Alison says:
By setting your foundation with a colorless powder, such as my Transparent Finish, to set it in place as well as to absorb excess shine. During the day, BEFORE you touch up with more powder (my Transparent Finish TO GO is the ultimate in convenience!) use a few Blotting Tissues to remove any excess oil or perspiration from your skin ? then powder.

4. You asked: What are the 3 products you cannot live without as a make-up artist?

Alison says:
OK, honestly, I am a TOTAL product junkie and there are probably about 10-15 products that I absolutely must have in order to survive ? But if it was a case of life or death, and I could only take 3 with me, I?d say they?d have to be (in order of importance):

1. True Concealer (NOTHING makes you look better than even-toned skin)
2. Lipskins (this is a tinted lip balm with SPF 15 that in a pinch can double as a cheek and eye color ? and for me, often does!)
3: Mineral Powder Foundation in a Mineral Powder To Go Brush (this is a light foundation, powder, and brush all in one, and like I said, it?s ALL about great looking skin!)

However, I?d be lying if I told you that there was any cosmetic product that made me more beautiful than being totally in love with my husband. I know it sounds corny, but having a partner that loves, supports, and respects you is the ULTIMATE beauty secret, and finding that person is worth searching the world and waiting a lifetime for?because every woman deserves NOTHING LESS!

4. You asked: I have heard all about your True Concealer. How is it different from the rest?

Alison says:
In a nutshell, most concealers do one of two things: they either cover, but do not blend easily into the skin OR they blend easily into the skin but do not cover. True Concealer is different because its unique formula both COVERS and BLENDS! Plus it is Mineral Oil Free, so it can be used both under the eyes as well as on blemishes, contains Vitamins A-C-E and Sodium Hylournate to nourish and hydrate the skin, and comes in 7 skintone-true shades (not just the standard ?light, medium, and dark?) so you can find your perfect match. Also, everything I make is extremely easy to use, so you don?t have to be a makeup artist (that?s my job) to get professional, natural looking results. It?s just one of those products that just has to be seen to be believed.
