Tuesday Tutorial: How to Recreate the Bridal Beauty Look from Monique Lhuillier
Monique Lhuillier debuted her 2014 Bridal Spring/Summer collection in New York this weekend, and while the dresses were dreamy we were obviously swooning over the beauty looks that went the runway. Breathtaking gowns were paired with romantic makeup in natural earth tones. Backstage the beauty was subtly 60s-inspired, but with a modern twist. And the inspiration behind it all? None other than timeless beauty, Grace Kelly. Get the look in four simple steps...
Step 1: Flawless Face
The goal for the skin was a clean look. Makeup artists replaced glowing skin with a modern matte finish. Go matte with Giorgio Armani Lasting Silk UV Foundation SPF 20 or Hourglass Immaculate Liquid Powder Foundation.
Expert Tip: To mattify the skin use a pressed powder first, before applying foundation.
Step 2: Winged Eyeliner
Groomed brows framed thinly lined cat eyes. Use black gel or cream liner and the slimmest brush you can find to create the look. Yves Saint Laurent Effet Faux Cils Crème D’Eyeliner and Buxom Lash Liner are both great options. Step 3: Natural Matte Lip
From the face to the lips, this look is all about matte. In keeping with the natural feel, the lips were painted with soft neutral colors. Give it a try with Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Lacewood or Lipstick Queen Sinner in Peachy Nude.
Step 4: Loosely Styled Hair
The hair masters at Kérastase created styles to complement (and not compete with) the fashions and the face. To finish off the look, pull hair back into loose chignon and keep every hair in place with spritz of Kérastase Double Force Finishing Spray.
