Looking for a chic update to your everyday updo? Super stylist Orlando Pita created this effortless looped ‘do for the Spring 2012 Carolina Herrera show and we’re gaga for it. It’s a neat little combo of several spring hair trends: the slicked-back front and the fancied-up pony. And—hello!—it’s actually wearable off the runway.
Step 1:Get sleek. Use a smoothing serum—try Moroccanoil Light—to nix frizzies and create shine.
Step 2:Divide down the middle. With a rattail comb, create a middle part. Pull hair into a low ponytail at the base of your neck.
Step 3:Fluff it up. Take the tail of your pony and do some gentle backcombing—it makes the loop fill out nicely. Note to fine-haired girls: this step is crucial for creating a heftier loop.
Step 4:Flip the tail. Before tucking your hair up, pull out an inch-wide section of hair that you’ll need for step five. Fold the tail in half and pull the ends through an elastic. (You want to make the loop as long as possible so the extra fringe doesn’t show.)
Step 5:Conceal. Wrap the remaining section of hair around the exposed elastic and secure in place with a bobby pin. Spray hair with L’Oreal Elnett Satin Hairspray to hold in place.
